						 Hello
I picked up a chaos box and banelord titan many years ago (around 95 I think) but never got into playing epic. I have been think for some time of giving it a shot. So I though I would get a little advice from those more learned fellows round here
  1. Are there many players in and arounf London, UK. If so is there a good club that runs regular Epic games that I could come and watch a few. And maybe a kind soul might run through a few of the practice things in the rulebook with a complete newbie!
  2. Are tank and air only guard lists even feasible. I have been playing around with numbers but have no idea if what I have dreamt up is any good.
  Cheers
  Rich

						1 - Yep!
I go to two places to play Epic currently.
One is the Brent Cross GW store on Thursdays, the other is this club in a pub in Charing Cross: http://www.crossgc.com/  (They're not open again until early Jan though).

There are a few other Epic-playing clubs in London as well, notably the Great Portland Street club: http://www.clwc.org.uk/
I'd be happy to run you through some intro games if we happen to meet.

  2 -
Tank-based IG lists can work, though I always prefer to have an infantry company to take shelter in buildings that I've captured.
Tank/air combos can work (Like taking a couple of Leman Russ companies backed up with Storm Troopers mounted in Valkyries, all supported by Thunderbolt fighters).

						Cheers
I was looking at something along those lines. A Mech Inf Company and two Russ Companies backed up with two Thunderbolts, two Shadowswords, Sentinels, a Flak Battery and some Stormtroopers in Valkyres.
This means I can get myself some nice late Christmas presents from Forgeworld.
  Cheers

Cool, I run a similar all-armoured/mech IG army at the moment that looks something like this:
  - Reg HQ mech inf company with 3 Griffons. - Mech inf company with 3 Hellhounds. - Leman Russ company with 1 Hydra. - Baneblade. - Baneblade. - Sentinel Squadron. - Rough Rider Squadron (Using old IG biker models). - Storm Trooper Platoon in 4 Valkyries. - 2x Thunderbolt fighters.

I'd recommend taking some artillery in your list though.
