It's a close tie for me between Epic and Warmaster-based systems (WMA, BKC). I never liked BFG though.

Have to say Biggles WWI airplanes game is the most fun I've had games wise!

I've never played any of the others, but Warmaster does tempt me every now and then. I would, naturally, collect a Dwarf army.

Indeed. Any chance of copies, Biggles?

A place near my has some Warmaster Dwarf army sets, want me to pick you up one?  There labeled $10 but they're in the 50% bin, so you might get them for $5.

Oh, and Epic.  With a standing interest in the others listed.

Dave

You really know how to tempt someone. :D  Let me think about it. If they have any, I might be interested in some Warmaster Chaos minis for Epic.

Its core components are 2+ battlemasters playsheets, a bunch of trenches, a few sides of paper and a stack of WWI model airplanes, by far the hardest component to get!

Mmh, Man o War is excellent game. I'd like to play it again, I hope I got my friends again interested to it. :)  And yeah, WM is very good game, I like it as much as Epic.

Chris thanks for the plug, but you are too kind. Mine is just one of a number of similar games that have been developed and marketed over the years - I just have not published mine as I believe the appeal is somewhat esoteric.

Regarding the components, Chris has got the list right, but IMO getting hold of suitable Hex maps was the hardest thing as it is still relatively easy to get a number of the basic 1/72 Airfix & Revel kits. I settled on the BattleMasters sheets because they were about the right size, and reasonably durable / transportable (I now have four, and dream someday of putting on a game about 10' x 6') :D

As for a copy of the rules, that will be rather difficult as I don't have them formally written down. As Chris says, the basic stuff is on the reference sheets that are used to record the moves of each person's aircraft, and I have worked out the stats for something over 50 aircraft types. However, if any of you are interested, I could set up a game one evening in the Central London Wargames Club in the New Year for you to come and have a go. Numbers have to be restricted to around 20 people, so please warn me beforehand.

Warmaster of course. I can't tell which system (Epic or Warmaster) I prefer but it is clear to me that big battles are more interesting thant skirmishes or big skirmishes.

This is why I also do like BFG.  ;)
