Hi! It's most possible that next month i travel to London, so i need info about two topics: - Where can i stay? i mean, do you know about any cheap hotel or other kind of accomodation in London or at least near it? - Where can i buy miniatures there? not the typical GW ones, as we have plenty of them here, but the more unusual ranges (GZG, Reaper, Old Glory, NavWar...) Any info would be greatly apreciated! |

Maybe NavWar shop? it' open on Sundays only. Hope i have one of thise days to go there (i have been eyeing their SCW naval range. At their prices i could bring home both the nationalist and the republican fleets!). By the way, i'm looking for a double room (it's me & my girlfriend), as near to center london as possible (and as cheaper as possible... i'm poor ![]() |

Hi. I live close to London. Places to stay is not going to be cheap. However, there are a few cheaper places. I will see if I can find any. As for game shops, you must go to the Orcs Nest: http://www.orcsnest.com/ You could also take a look at Leisure Games (although I have not been there): http://www.leisuregames.com/acatalog/ContactUs.html All the best. |

Orc's nest website is down ![]() By the way, do any of you happen to live there? i ask so because i would like to know if you could contact NavWar and ask them if they are going to be open Saturday 29, as they state in their website. Now that i think of it, perhaps i should pay a visit to Irregular or Peter Pig while i'm there... |

Typical. You can still find the Orcs Nest here: Orcs Nest I live close to London. The problem with NavWar (and this is a constant complaint) is that he is ONLY in on Saturdays. That means that I cant even call him at any other time. I think that he does answer faxes during the week, though, so you might want to try that. But, when I have called on a Saturday (during the stated hours!), I have never had problem getting through, so I do think that he is consistant. Let me know if I can help. |

For commercial accommodation check out the websites (I just stay with family). And remember close to the centre could just mean being on a tube line to the centre. It used to take me more time to cross London to work than if I commuted from Brighton (to Victoria where I worked). And otherwise fancy a game? I'm back in London on the 17th for Christmas ![]() |

Have a look here: Travel Lodge This is a hotel chain. Very basic - room only, no food. But they are clean, and relatively OK for price. But, that still means almost one hundred pounds a night. (not bad, for London!) |

Leisure games changed hands a year or so back... they're not as good as they used to be. |

It depends where in Victoria it is. Near the station is great, since you are close to a couple of underground stations, south link rail and Big Ben and other attractions are right at the end of the road. Close to the station and I would go with Victoria (I used to live there). |

Well, today i will finally sign with the guys at the travel agency. By the way, yo who know NavWar shop: do they use to be fully stocked? i ask so because i'm almost sure i'm trying to go there and buy the full spanish civil war fleet, and that's going to be a lot of ships by the way, i need someone to tell me what can i buy as gunboats and subs, as the spanish range smallest ships are destroyer types. Is anyone around here familiar with the Royal Navy pre WW2? i say so because most vessels would be either copied or inspired in RN designs, so if anyone could tell me which reference from NavWar comes closer to what i'm looking for, it would be really good. Now that i think on it, maybe i should also buy the Deutschland, which shelled Malaga during the SCW (it would be a curious scenario: "the hunt for the Deutschland" ![]() |
