Just posting to say I have had my first real game of epic this weekend, an IG vs IG game with wargame insomniac and emperors shadow off of this very board! I guess that makes me, officially, an epic player. It was something of a meat grinder as you might expect, although emperors shadow clinched it in the end and defeated our joint alliance, thus finally settling which IG force were the traitors! (victors write history and all that) I just thought I would post to point out that this game (and hopefully more games in the future) would never have happened without this board for the epic community to meet and exchange ideas. Keep up the good work everyone - The game exists while we play it and are interested in it. |

Hi Kleomenes- thanks again for doing all of the legowk in getting the 3 of us together and also for hosting us for such a long game+chat. I am glad the way that day worked out was minimal incovenience to your family. It was cool to have a room capable of putting up such a big table and still have space. And also thank you for letting me use part of the army- although I fear that my flank may have let the Imperium down a bit as I got overun by those heretic guardsmen. Also I will take this opportunity to say again what a pleasure to see 2 such nicely painted armies lined up against each other. Next time I hope will have digital camera so can share the excellent painting with everyone!! Game wise it did end up being the expected attrition-fest with 2 similar IG armies going up against one another. Credit to Emperors Shadow for his planning and execution to set up the last turn Warhound PBG shot to take Break Their Spirit. Until I thought it would have been a dead heat on objective points and that we would have had to count up kill totals. I have always known that Vultures could be lethal- first time I had seen it at first hand. Leman Russ proved to be surprisingly fragile being unable to rally (thanks to poor dice rolling by both of us!!). Shadowsords and Warhounds proved as good as they usually do. Your Mechanised Company did better then I have usually experienced- their weight of fire helped take the central ruined building. I found it amusing that after our game chatting about Stalingrad we then had a 4 turn re-anactment on that flank. Overall it was a game I really needed after some 15 months epic-free. Am looking foward to making these games a hopefully regular occurence. Playing at Headingley club will be great way of meeting up. So if anyone else interested in playing Epic on a sunday afternoon in West Yorkshire, then let us know!! Thanks again and speak to you soon. Cheers James |

I just love the feeling that Epic still has a heart and that it is starting to beat stronger. Sorry I couldn't make it this time, but I had other fish to fry. ? ![]() We will have to see about next time and throw some Orks into the mix. |

(Nicodemus @ Oct. 28 2007,10:58) QUOTE You too have been assimilated! Resistance is futile. ![]() ![]() Congrats on your first game, Kleomenes. I feel the same about this board. I've had the opportunity to play against a few members that I never would have met otherwise if it weren't for TacComm. |

Hi Tim With 4 of us living relatively close it will be cool to play regularly- with of us we should always be able to get at least 1 game in, and I think we have fair variety of armies to keep things interesting. See you down at Headingley?? Cheers James |

Hi guys. What is the feeling on V2 rulebook that has been posted on this site. Are we going to stick with the published rulebook for the moment? Do either of you have a thunderhawk model I can borrow for Sunday? Have we agreed points? Cheers James |

Unless something changes on the Junior Football front, I will not be able to make it, but I would recommend that we stick to the existing rules as these are currently used in UK tournaments. Hope to make it to the next meet though. |
