Hi all, I'm going to be making an epic vehicle similar to the stormblade soon. The basic features will be a heavy tank, or SHT with a fixed hull mounted titan sized plasma blast gun, like the one on the warhound. In designing this vehicle, I'm trying to figure out what this gun would be used for: Is is heavy support? A titan killer? Good vs infantry or armor? Short range? Long range? Would this tank be driving into the thick of the fighting? I'm not trying to do make any rules, I just want the design to make (some) sense. Thanks for the help, CF |

The Plasma Blastgun is a light Anti-Titan weapon, or a heavy Anti-Tank weapon. It has a medium range on the battlefield. |

I guess it depends on the version of the stormblade. The SM2 one was a close range titan killer extraordinare with missiles to strip shields and the blastgun plus a big missile to deliver the killing blow. I see the FW stormblade more as close range, anti vehicle support as the blast gun isn't necessarily that great against titans/war machines any more. Something to bring into city fighting in support of the anti-personnel stormhammers and stormswords, where volume of fire is more important than range. Also I can imagine that a huge shot of plasma will bring buildings down happily ![]() |

CF, you do realise you can buy a very nice stormblade from FW, don't you? Just checking, 'cos it's obviously easier than making your own. 3 for ?18, IIRC. Here's aq pic: |

God, I love those Stormblades. I painted three and want to buy some more just to keep in my underpants. Or Yen's underpants, depending upon whim. |

Todd, I suggest you keep a different blastgun in/near Yen's underpants, because if you want to stick a small resin Imperial Guard plasma blastgun there she may go elsewhere opting for either a Slaaneshi or Tyranid blastgun. Something more organic. If you know what I mean. You know? ![]() |

Thanks for the help guys, that's exactly what I was looking for...well maybe with the exception of otterman's posts (although great for a laugh ![]() Reaver: Yes I'm aware of these, but I'm planning something a bit different. The FW models do look great though. Thanks anyway for the pic. Not to let the cat out of the bag, but it'll involve LEDs. I'll try to post some pics if I ever get around to making this. Thanks, CF |

Looking forward to seeing Canucks Fan take on the great big plasma blastgun strapped to a tank idea. Cheers James |

Just out of curiosity, is there any "official" color for the plasma coils? I'm probably going to go with green or blue. Yellow can work, but its pretty bright. Just for the record, none of the above is going near my pants. |

They seem to be most commonly portrayed as electric blue. |
