From some of the pics up at GW you can also see some lightning claws amongst the Terminators  :p

I debated. I debated some more. I decided against buying it. It cost far too much $165 OZ and then I thought maybe I will for nostalgia reasons. Then I realised ... wait you've had the original for 10-15 years now and not played it since. Case closed.

I totally agree not to mention because of the exchange rate at the moment it should not cost any more then $120 at most. It would be cheaper to import it yourself and you would still save $30 to $40.

I had thought the limited edition thing was both a way to justify it to the money who don't want any diversion from core games and the invest/return there and a way of trialling the demand for old games in this format.

Plus the limited tag means no ongoing support and no grumbles!

From the picks it seems 1 captain, 1 librarian, 1 assault cannon, 1 heavy flamer, 1 thunder hammer, 1 lightning claws, rest stormbolters. Hmm, maybe have to buy 2 boxes to make up the classic 2/6/2 terminator contingent or a complete BA assault squad of terminators! :)

Maybe I would pass also if I still had the 1st edition set, but seeing as I don't...

I thought 2 sets would also work well, more Termies and more floor sections!

*Grumble Grumble Grumble*   :;):

Well with any luck, now the rest of us can own a copy that we can stow away for 15 years as well.

Then again, I may just sell it in years to come for a tiny profit. History has shown that such a game will be highly sought after when all the availability and grumbling ceases.

:D

Ordered my copy the day it came out.

Never had the original, but I remember readin WD articles for extra missions, and I have always loved 'stealers.

I've had to promise my local store that I wouldn't paint the marines pink (I seem to paint all of my recent forces pink), but I wouldn't had anyway.  The models deserve to be blood angels or one of their sucessesor chapters.

I have held the models and they are 28mm heroic scale, one of the staff members also red washed one of the marines and it went striaght on.

P.S. was it for space hulk or crusade in whoch the extra missons had rules for librians killing themsleves and opening up a warp rift, and thunderhammer and storm shield termies self destructing (turns out touching a thunderhammer to a stormshield causes an explosion, luckily no traitor chapters have thunderhammers and storm shields, otherwise an assault termie on assault termie confrontation would be akward).

Deathwing Expansion had the weapon variants.
Genestealer the psykers (which tended to unbalance thigns a bit in our experience)

We always enjoyed the psykers; it added a new level of complexity to your tactics.  We always strived to out do one another in our brilliant psyker combinations.

I pre-ordered a copy with my FLGS. Despite the price it was tough to pass it up, even though I have the 1st edition and both expansions, as well as the 2nd edition.  :vD

Yeah. The original Stealers made a nice conga line giving a scary models-eye view as they marched towards the Terminators. I am really considering either getting some GW Terminators to paint up and put on small bases for this with some standard Genestealers, or some Kryomek figures to replace the Stealers with (I have been looking for an excuse to get them for a long time) or even some 15mm aliens figures. Then I will probably leave the SH miniatures unpainted initially, and maybe get back to them later.

Never brought any of the original space hulk box sets, buy I do remember reading missions in WD.

Maybe they were for hulk missions on crsuade boards.
