Tom, it ain't a good thing, the other day when it was a bit colder, I had to run for a bus and nearly killed myself! I couldn't breathe! It's not good I tell you...

Yes, I thought about putting that pun in there, but I am couldn't bring myself to do it.
Strangly enough, when I wrote cr*p the first time it changed it to poo! I think the forum knows what we think...

I'm guessing you wrote c r a p instead of poo?
The problem with filters is it can give the wrong message when compared to the original...but to I suppose it stopps obseen language all over the place!

Yes, I did.
The problem is that I dont want to censor or restrict communication, but at the same time there need to be certain limits on what is expressed here. I find this the easiest way, and I do try to think carefully about all the possible contexts of censored words and which replacements would still fit the various phrases, etc.

yup, but write down assassin and if the filter is picky enough to have "ass" in his list you are likely to be banned for repeating the word over an over. LOL Happened to www.ulthuan.org (my webpage) when Mike (the dude that works on the programming) added the filter, so it is not that uncommon. Heh

What would be funny is to use the filter to change words to a totally different word/phrase.
So, when someone types -> 'Oh c r a p !'
It actually comes out -> 'Oh I love fluffy bunnies'
