Politics aside, what amazed me was the sheer length of her post. I am writing a dissertation and I think she has me beat in terms of word count....

Bah ... have we not  wasted enough time on her and her skewed views(skewed in my mind anyway) ?  We are an eclectic group here, students , former military, military, teachers, business men, Peace-niks(to quote Mok), academics, etc., etc. ... I believe we are all smart enough to realize we're just playing with toy soldiers ... and that's as far as it goes. I'm sure I'm pretty safe in saying that any of the denizens that frequent here, won't be killing anyone ... or even beating some one up ...  (Much as I would have liked to in the past since I became a civilian !)

Yes but comne on, if you want to be strengthing the corporations that make your country rich and powerful but at the same time don't always have stunning press would you want to be seen as doing that? One of the first things a government has to do these days it seems is try and ensure everything it does isn't associated with it (especially if it is in any way an ideological position), unless it can be very media managed or is in some way 'fluff'.

don't worry about that page, the "crusaders"    have more important targets like social networks, tv violence etc...

The wargames or war toys are a minor target I'm sure that the page writer is a berseker searching two minutes of cyberglory   .

The problem is that maybe ( note that I write maybe) this is the same people that try to stablish the creationism doctrine inside the science studies. And now they can acces to the net, it's terrorific.

Aye...'tis a separate discussion really and i think L4's hit it on the head.  I for one am bound to get tetchy if we start throwing ideas of liberalism and conservatism around but i'm more interested in personal rather than party politics and, has been pointed out, one country's rightwing is another's left!

Eclectic sure is the right word, a good friend of mine works in intel for the police in the UK and thinks i should be locked up for some of the (activisty) things i've done whereas i think he's a supporter of a nigh on fascist state regime; basically we're almost politically polar opposites but that hasn't stopped us from sitting down for a few beers and blowing the crap out of each other's armies...and i'm sure we'd find the same differences between forum members here, but again 'intelligence' is what sees us out of all that murk and allows us to appreciate little toy soldiers instead.

If anyone does want to continue the discussion in a separate thread i'd be more than interested to discuss the politics of wargaming (is there one?!) but I'd also say that more credit is being given than is due to the rather long dissertation and so i'm going to leave discussion of that by the way side.

Wargaming should be used like Rollerball as an alternative to real wars, in order to pactify the bloodlust of the masses and keep the average Joe in his place.
