Some more interesting stuff some have you may not have seen, originally posted on the BFG list by a guy called James;

>>The most important thing about Epic A is that it is no longer intended to replace all the plastic Epic infantry with metal ones.
Metal figures will be produced for the specialists of each army - Assault Marines and Ternminators were the examples mentioned. The metal Termies looked just as good as the plastic ones. The new-style Epic Land Speeders and Rhinos looked gorgeous, quite frankly.

Big shooty things: well, they're re-doing the Capitol Imperialis
(described as like a gothic Jawa Sand Crawler with a big gun and an Imperial guy shouting at troops on the top of it and capable of fighting a Titan) but the important releases are a huge Ork orbital lander - described as an Orky Thunderbird 2 - and a huge Ork submersible war engine, as described in the Armageddon 3 fluff.

The planned release schedule is to have the game and basic stuff for Marines, Guard and Orks out in December this year. There'll be several releases over the following months to bring out the rest of those armies by summer 2004. Then they'll deal with the Eldar, Chaos & Bug ranges, and Tau or Necrons after that.

..Some interesting extra details there- and thanks CyberShadow for posting all those great pics too..  :D ..Damn that Tau cruiser looks cool (and big!!)...

It was good to be there and meet TS and Iain, I didnt get much from fanatic due to others getting there first so I retreated and checked out the FW stand, there was nothing new there but that could have been because of the french show the next day. Not much in the cabinets for epic that we hadnt seen on the epic40k site but see nice to see in reality  :D  Cant wait til those models are released.

Hi,

Just got this from Tom who couldnt log in, however he asked to pass on what Jervis sent him.

From Tom:
Could someone post for me to update the thread about the plastics rumour? I just got this from Jervis.

"This looks like a rumour based on a trip members of the Fanatic team made
down to our plastics factory a couple of months ago. We went down to find
out about new plastic tooling techniques that might allow the Fanatic studio
to produce plastic miniatures at a future date. It's unlikely we'll be able
to use the new techniques in time for the Epic release so I'm still assuming
we'll be going over to an all metal range, but we're continuing to
investigate the possibility just in case.

Best regards,

Jervis Johnson
Head Fanatic"

Hope the above helps

indeed...I fear the ever increasing costs may drive me out of such major new aquisitions.

I just can't justify paying prices like 65 pounds for a Forgeworld Cathedral.  Yes its a lovely model, but that is a heck of a lot of cash.

And its cash that Kitty, Amber and their friends need so badly from you L4 :L

Cool, sorry I couldn't attend in the end. It would have been great to catch up with some of you guys.
I love the new Bloodbowl models and the Necromunda enforcer team though. can't wait for them.

Well, I just love E-A rumors, plastic or metal ?! ??? ?Did anyone see the former Iraqi Info Min., "Baghdad BoB", at Salute ? After 12 years of "Epicing", I'll only believe it when it's in my hands ! :D ?And I guess, Tas ... Kitty, Amber & company, may just have to settle for my "charm & wit", once E-A is released !!! ? ? ?But that's months from now, or longer !!! ?

OK, I emailed James about the various rumours that he found from Salute, and updated the main Salute 03 page for your information. All the best.

I believe all the "new" forgeworld stuff was in France for the French Games Day. I've seen some pics, I'll find a link for them, but just to wet your apetite, there was a new SM Whilwind varient, and Epic Harridan and a new Imperial plane!!! (Can't remember the name sorry  )

Cheers

Chris

Its almost worht having a "Rumours" page as part of this website so we can keep them all in one spot and see if the prophesies come true!

It might be an idea to compile the rumours. The trouble is that once EpicA is finally released, what will we talk about?  :D  Still, the rumours are interesting, and I could put them all together into a pinned thread if people would find it interesting.

I have now added a few pictures from Darkone26. I think that we are the only ones with Salute pictures out there!
