I like the Leviathan I think the dark scheme looks great and the brotherhood is sweeeeeet.  I am using the same dreads for my next detachment and had a guy tell me the other day at a GW store that I could not use these because they were not GW official models, luckly the manager stepped in and showed him the error of his ways.

I have been remiss in my updates here, but on the bright side I managed to get some more accomplished on my conversion.

Saturday morning I managed to get up bright and early before the family awoke and starting working on the lower half of the Aeonic Orb.  I had found these triangular gems at a craft store and felt they would be the perfect shape for the edge of the orb.  They have these subtle angles along their surface that should pop well when dry brushed.

No, the Necron are not turning into Rainbow Ponies.  Just wait... :p

My first time using a power tool for making Epic.  I must say I was a bit apprehensive, but I needed a hole for the the flying base's stand to attach to.

The spiky things were finally cut.  Using the flying base's stand as a center point, I glued them around its edge and slowly worked my way out.  Because the styrene is a hexagonal cross section they fit together quite well.

This was Sunday...  You can see that the modeling is done.  All that is left is the piece's priming, painting, and assembly.

Right before church the Aeonic Orb gets primed.  I did get a curious look from a neighbor while I was in my backyard barefoot, wearing pajamas and a robe, priming some odd little shape in a box.

You see?  I told you I wasn't making a Rainbow Pony. :D

This morning I managed to get up early and do a bit of painting.  There won't be much to paint, but the colors that are there will need to look right.

I watered down some skull white and brushed it over the crystals, allowing it to seep between them and define their edges.  This also lightened the crystals for the green to follow.  I used ?? green (the one lighter than snot) to color the crystals and I will eventually drybrush them with some snot green, then forest green.

You know those crystals you always see in Necron terrain pieces?  What the heck are they?  And why are they always around the Necrons?  I don't read the fiction so I don't know if there is a reason, but I'm putting them on the bottom of the Orb.  Power source?  Who knows, but the Necron have now incorporated them into their Harvester Engine.

Nice work, Zap. I really like those old Dreads.

Good progress, Moscovian.

I did manage to get in some painting last night. I continued painting an Overlord and three Gyrocopters. I'm going to my doctor this afternoon. I'm hoping he gives me some good drugs to get rid of this annoying cough/congestion so that I can get back to some serious painting. :p

You raise the age-old question: why are construction workers noisiest before 0700?

Shaping up nicely...
