I have always found that flak jackets increases the survival rate of your troops in the field.

Many Thanks Guys ... I was hoping for a more positive outcome, but knew it was a high risk operation. ? Had I been a little lucky this would have been a great victory (for all concerned, IMO !). ?Still in the process of extracting. ?Suffered more casualties then I would have thought ... ?:( ? I'm just getting old and soft. ?But she was well worth the effort. ?I guess you are never to old to learn (or get your butt kicked in matters of the heart !). ?Napoleon (IIRC) said something about "Fortune favors the bold" ! ?Yeah ... right ... :{ ?Oh and flak jackets/body armor usually reduces casualities by about 25% (Hamburger Hill, Vietnam, 1969), much more so today, probably closer to 33% or more. ?History Fun Fact of the day ! ?:;): ? Well I'll see what "fate" has in?store for me today ... just hope to keep the loses low ...  ???

Just remember - after Dunkirk, we came back and blew they away... hopefully, you can repeat that success ;).

Just remember, there were Feral Orks at Dunkirk, too, muddling about with the German general's minds.  Probably the same thing here for you , L4!  Want me to send you a can of Feral Ork Zapper?
:D

Hang tough Legion.  We all bounce back and when we look back we consider ourselves fortunate for having it happen that way.

Thanks again guys !  Actually it went rather well today ... all things considered. ?Withdrew off the beaches with no loses. ?It appears this ain't over yet. ??? ?I guess the next phase will be guerilla warfare. ?But like the V.C., I'll have to be patient ... ?I'm still a bit confused over my minor success. ??? ?:o ? Many thanks again boyz ! ?(I should stop whining !)

Maybe you should read some Mao. ? :D

His study on the different phases of an insurgency may be very helpful here ?:p

Yes guys, studied Mao's guerilla warfare concepts as a cadet and again later at the Infantry School. And I'm now reading a book entitled "The Chinese War Machine".  Now that is serendipity !!! :o  A single "Heart & Mind" is my goal !  :;):  All good advise guys !    And maybe I'll just have the Chaplin say a prayer, like Patton did in the winter of '44-'45, for good weather. But it won't concern rain or snow !
