I thought you meant going about whacking anti-Epic peoples..... And then I thought, "You guys over there have all the fun."

Well, the show has been & gone & my god am I knackered!
Afraid I didnt get any photos though, there wasnt much of interest really ?
Also, My appologies if I missed anyone from EpiComms. Myself & James (Wargames Insomniac) met up at 2 but I didnt spot anyone else & at quarter past we gave up & went downstairs to find some seats!
Anyway, after 3 hours kip last night I must go & recover. Good day though, I hpe anyone I didnt meet but who was there enjoyed themselves as well ?

Hi Guys,
Sorry lost track of time and missed the meetup.
Bought my new IG army. Mix of GW & FW stuff. Looking forward to basing and painting... (not)
Bought loads of scenery, which after the IG army was the main thing I went for. The GZG city stuff is fantastic - although maybe too "clean" for Imperial cities.
Bought a real nice figure transport bag too. Different foam trays can by put in the bag depending on what I'm transporting.
Sticking my neck out here a little - I was really supprised (but pleased) but the numbers of women and girls at the show. It was really nice to see whole familes camped out having "carpet picnics" at lunchtime. I now have higher hopes of coverting my wife and young daughter, as both have shown an interest, but were put off by the boy'ish nature of staff and customers in the GW shops.
Chating to a couple from a local gaming group to me, they have a daughter who takes part, and I'm looking to take my daughter along to a meeting soon.
All in all, a really good show. My first for a while. Whislt I spent a kings ransom (well, just short of 300 quid!) it was a very enjoyable day, and good to chat with like minded people.
Oh, BTW - taking to a guy on the GW stand, minis have been delayed because the master mould maker has been off ill, hence the delays in the IG stuff. He didn't know if this would cause further delays in other planned Epic releases.

I'm interested as to what rumours have surfaced following this show as well. FW and Fanatic usually have some nice pre-release goodies for us to drool over!
Cheers
Chris

I didnt have any time to really quiz anyone this year - I was meeting someone every 45 minutes or less for painting work up until 2pm & then figured I deserved a little look around!
Fanatic didnt have their own stand this year & the FW one was much compressed on previous showings. I think they're intentionally being squashed to make way for other lesser known manufacturers to get an outing (& rightly so IMHO).
Knowledge on the GW stand was poor - I had to tell the GW guy I talked to what some of the Fanatic figures in the case were so I didnt bother trying to ask any probing questions of him.......
Che Webster had one of the Imperial Dropships in the game he was playing which was nice to see, but that was the only preview I spotted other than Warick Kinrade who bought along his entire master copy of Imperial Armour 2 (Space Marines & Inquisition) which was well worth a flick through.
Asked Warick about E:A GK's but he knows nothing. Will has apparently now sculpted the grand master as he saw him working on it, but no ideas as to the release schedule or anything else thats being done.

I agree. This year, gossip and new stuff was really thin on the ground. However, I have just uploaded the few pictures that I took. Have a look in the Library section of this site. There is a noce Imperial Lander decked out with Land Raiders, but that is about it. In fact, the demo game was about the highlight from a GW point of view. I did end up spending way too much money... again! But not much on GW.
I did get another 5 multi part Epic Martines.
I should also appologise, as we missed the 2pm meet up. We had finished looking around the show by about 12:15 (we were in very early!) and I had to meet up with the GF. So, sorry again that I missed the opportunity to say to a few of you guys.

Oh, nice purchase mate.......
*continues to count*
Multi part marines were the majority of my spend at this years show. I got some weird looks & the FW guy asked me if I knew what I wasbuying when I asked for 25 of them, but Warwick set the guy straight on my insanity
No worries in missing the meet-up. To be honest its a relief that you werent all standing around & I missed you! I will however now take photos of my warmaster Lizards for you as I took them to the show to give you a look at orange & green scaly things in person

Furgie | Shame you missed the meetup- it would have been good to have met more list members.
Was that case from figures in comfort? A friend bought one for his WFB army and he really liked the flexibility of customising the foam inserts. I was thinking about getting one for Epic figures. But I reckon the old style GW single/double cases will be better , especially for Epic Infantry.
I heard the same story from the SG stand- hope their designer has fully recovered. I had wanted to get some SM Vindicators but they were one of the figures affected by the delay. At least they had the SM Dreads though.
I wonder whether thsi is the reason that Epic Eldar have been delayed?
Cheers
James

Chris | The FW stand was fairly frantic so did n't ge any chance to chat to the guys there. Plus I was more interested in looking over the bits I had pre-ordered- I had finally managed to get some of the Epic Warhounds- i know they had been out ages but I had resisted ordering before from FW Mail Order as I knew that i would spend too much money. As it was I came in under my self-oimposed limit of ?100, getting 2 packs of warhounds, 1 Reaver and some BFG SM ships.
On the Fanatic stand they actually had less on display than last year's Salute, but a least this year they were selling stuff, albeit limited selection.
So no BFG SM Strike Cruisers. And even worse no IG Armoured company or Chimera!!! I had to console myself with some SM Dreads, IG Infantry & Artillery Company, pair of Thunderhawks and 2 Warlords. Again maanged to stick within my self-omposed limit, also ?100.
Rmour wise the guy on Fantic stand did not know any more than members of this forum. He was into Epic & BFg as a player but had n't got any more info to share. I tried finding out more about Epic Eldar but eft none the wiser.
next time I will have to nobble Che Webster who was running an Epic demo game, which was "won" by one of our club members! Dd get to see the SM Lnading Craft though- looks a fine model.
Cheers
James
