Well, not that I want to be the cause of any more rage, but Man O War actually is an old game that people miss.

true but this is a different scale and probably has different rules, at least space hulk was faithful to the original, with the addition of the 'guard' rule

I wish I had enough money to buy a couple of copies to sell on in a few months for a huge mark up.....

I know - that is what I meant (though I expressed it poorly): they could have re-released a game that people like instead and miss, but instead they chose to expend resources on an entirely new, one-off game that will never have additional models or entire fleets. Also, from what I understand, it uses completely different rules. So you get the theme, but little else.

But that is more of a soapbox than a rant, so I am done. ;D

Plus the new models are balls... I'm skipping it.

In fact I'm spurning it as I would spurn a rapid goat.

Dreadfleet, huh? Why didn't you dorks spend your development time and money on things that people actually want, like IG stormtroopers, all of those missing Tyranids, or perhaps Necrons, Necrons, Necrons, Necrons, Necrons? Fugging dipshits, enjoy the not-money I'm giving you!

I quite like the models in it - but then again, I don't have £70 spare to spend on miniatures which I don't (nor ever likely will have) time to spend.

So that's my not-money GW can enjoy too :P

I'm actually totally ok with GW not making Necrons :D.

£70 is high agreed. That equates to about $110AUS.
Of course GW Australia are charging $190AUS for it.

Morons.

How long did Space Hulk redux take to sell out? That cost what, £60? They sell on eBay at >£100 now, not sure what the peak was.

Mind you, I don't think Man O' War has the same iconic status compared to Space Hulk and, as others have said, Dreadfleet is not really the same game. I doubt if you could make much. Might be worth doing if you were going to buy, oh, 20 boxes or so (and can live with yourself), but that's a fair amount of cash to sink.

More generally, do others think the balance of interest in Fantasy vs 40K has changed much over the years? I don't remember 40K being quite so dominant in the 90s as it seems to be now, but maybe I'm just remembering it wrong or seeing it wrong now. Since I am not really connected with the rest of the hobby (only Epic) it's difficult for me to gauge.

Does that mean you'd consent to the rapid goat?

(Realises his error misspelling rabid)

And the skull islands? This is a skull pile, from reality. See it.

GW can be weirdly insensitive at times.

I get queasy any time anyone announces that their Grey Knights are about to use their "Holocaust" psychic power.

Regarding skulls, I'm not even sure why they bother. Perhaps tons of skulls on stuff was 'edgy' in the 1980s, but for most people in the States younger than me, skulls are just abstract silly things usually associated with Halloween. So, they either seem lame or in awful taste.
