Hey everyone! Just thought I'd report in briefly. The move went well - in the sense that it was as stressful as we expected it to be, ha! We were packing from 7am until we finished at after 3.30pm - we were pretty exhausted by then, but at this point we had a 5 hour drive down to Portsmouth to get the Ferry which took us over night to Caen. It was then a 9 hour drive from there to our new home in the Dordogne! We didn't have much time to recover, as first thing the following morning the lorry turned up piled to the ceiling with our stuff - we spent nearly 4 hours unloading it then we had to find homes for everything and get our beds sorted!
The next few days were spent trawling through a seemingly endless sea of boxes to sort out our belongings. I'm pleased to say that all my wargaming stuff arrived complete & safe, few!
towards the end of ths last week we've been able to make a start re-docrating our guest accomadation, I've made a start on the copious amounts of terrain for out wargaming facilities too (I'm about to go start a log for this in the Epic Terrain section).
Anyway, hope all my fellow EpiCommers/TacticalCommers are okay, I will report back when we've got a broadband connection working at our home and I don't have to use dial-up *shudders*
A bientot!

Glad to know that everything went well. When I realise my life-long dream of following the Tour de France I'll make sure to look you up. The Pyrennes are tantalizingly close to your new home...

Crossed at Caen ! Good idea, they'd never expect the Allies to land there again ! And good to hear you are well on your way to setting up your new "hooch" ! Congrads !

You know what the most frantic moment in moving is? Trying to figure out where you packed the toilet paper, "under duress".
But then again, in France you probably had a bidet, so my observation only applies to North America...
