I'm curious. What was the total cost including shipping? $19 bucks for 120 bases is an awefully tempting deal.

Shipping to the US was $5.64.

I really liked the size options.  I selected a small portion of my order in 20x40mm
(just like Warmaster bases) for some special stands.

The 15x40s will give more room to stager inf. so 5 figs don't look so bunched up when crammed into 40mm.  Plus most (if not all) of GWs plastic LVs and Mounted Inf. have exactly 15mm bases so I won't have alot of base overhang around them.

Not bad. So, about 24 bucks for 120 bases. That's about 1/3 of the price for GW bases.

Are the standard Epic infantry bases 40mm x 10mm?  I've never actually sat down and measured them.

Yeah, the GW strip bases are 10mm x 40mm.  They would be fine if you were mounting 4 figs per base, but 5 seems crowded to me.

Strip bases are good for certain armies.  Necrons seem like an army that would line up like ducks in a shooting gallery.  Orks on the other hand would bunch up in little clusters.  I'll be basing some of my IG & SM infantry on strips, but in a marching line, not in the normal fashion.  Long bases are also good for Scout units that should be spread out, basing only 3 or 4 to a base as they obviously wouldn't huddle together.

For me, no one base fits all purposes.  It's going to be especially nice having these 15 x 40s when it comes time to base bikes and cavalry.

Check my EM4 link in the first post of this thread to see some of the other base types I've acquired.
