Nice pic ! M113 APCs, M901 ITVs, M577 ACVs ! I commanded a Mech Co of 14 M113 APC + 2 M901 ITVs. And had an M577 when on Bn Staff ! And yes, as I said the manual shows where and what color to paint ! Like I said, "like paint the numbers" !

I agree with all said here so far, with the adiditon thta when I painted up my Arty guns, they would come with 6 different "patterns" in the book so they would all be different.
I have also seen soldiers pour old oil onto their vehicles, and then throw dust from the local area all over them, which then sticks to the oil. Add a few branches and its pretty effective.

I remember seeing the painting facility once when I was trying to shepherd one of our vehicles through the post maintenance depot at Fort Lewis. It was a cool set-up -- a ventilated bay with large airbrush hoses hanging from the ceiling, each of which sprayed a different color of CARC (chemical agent resistant coating) paint. The civilian contractors would pull a vehicle in and do the "paint-by-numbers" deal that someone else had described earlier. The CARC paint is carcinogenic, though, so they had to be in full space-suits when working in there. Cool stuff.

Yes, I remember that also a FT. Benning, Ga. CARC was very carsinogenic ! I also remember my crews drawing on the patterns in Chalk ... in prep for the "paint-by-numbers" !
