I've still got my Thunderbolts to do.

Think I'm just going to go the lazy route and paint them black with a metal drybrush.

Perhaps a touch on my Land Speeders and Thunderhawk after that.

I'm determined not to be painting at 2.30am on the friday, as i've done the previous 2 years    especially as I'm driving up to Notts on the saturday morning instead of staying over on the friday, like last year.

What do have you to paint? I got a large Eldar painted army (Iyanden) if you don't get it all done. I'll be bringing them anyway as I can't be @rsed to take them out of the case  :)

Just got to finish one Revenant (not really happy with them but they'll do ), then base one guardian squad so I'll be finished tonight.

I'm going up tomorrow as I didn't fancy another 6:30 start on Saturday!

Well the dust has settled and the pain of the loses has started to fade!

Saturday was brutal, 3 loses 3-1, 2-0 and 2-0. The only saving grace was the my first two games where against the eventual winner and runner up!

Sunday started better with a 4-0 win but ended with a loosing draw on points. Why I charged my brittle eldar towards the orc masses remains a mystery  :o0

As always it was a pleasure meeting up with all the players and gaming in a competitive yet fun environment.

Right off to tweak the force for Call to Arms, or do I paint the gaurd....

Yeah, top weekend.

I got to play Eldar 3 times, Orks and the bladder loosening Feral Orks  :8:

I'm actually writing up a bit of a report, but i'll just say the first days performance was better than the second days  :80: and it was nice to face some challenging and very different armies.

Finally got to face off against Revenants for the first time, and came to respect Sqiggoths a little more.

So thanks to Matt, Joe, Andy, Matt and Steve for some brain tiring (but fun  :) ) games.

Nice to meet the usual crowd as well - namely Chris (mi6 agent :D  )  Hayes and Dave 'holofield save' Bartley. Not to mention Andy 'my warlord keeps going critical' Harris.

Much kudos to Nathan as well for winning again with the oft considered weak Space Marines - showing you don't need a drop army or a shed load of warhounds to do well  :D

I'd like to add my thanks to everybody that played, the WPS organisers and GW as well for the venue.

I had a great time with 2 wins and 3 draws. Two days to show me the problems with Ferals - Well worth it :p

We have Call to Arms next and speaking with Matt, there are plans afoot for a WPS GT at Mansfield during the Autumn half term - end of October.

More gaming here we go.

Tim

Overal Ferals came 2nd and 3rd in the tournament. Most people were not set up for the 3 Steam Gargants that both Steve and I took and so they were left alone for most of the battles.

The killer for me was that on two of my games we played corner to corner and so for the majority of time I was left slogging my way across the board.

In both corner games I was facing Eldar with Revenants and these had a field day shooting up what ever moved forward.

Although the true enemy of my army was artillery which with manticores and eldar having disrupt really hurt me especially as Orkeosaurus aren't fearless.

I did manage a draw against the eventual winner and if we had had time for a fourth turn I think that I would have scrapped a victory.

So a fun army to play with but I don't think that I will be taking it to any two tournaments again.

I played Steve's ferals in game two. Facing 50 odd boar boys was certainly imtimidating at the start.

As you got a feel for the army as th game went on I thought they were ok, not really over powerfull and pretty character full.

I lost 2-0 with my eldar, but if my Vampire with my Aspect host had activated on any of the 3 turns It may have helped

A tough army but with enough weaknesses was my impression from this one encounter.
