Good one mate.  We usually do self tours as well, but its a nice change to sit back and let somebody else worry about the details now and again!

Last time I flew past Mt Etna she was errupting and causing quite a mess! Glad she was a bit calmer for you this time.

I've climbed Mt Vesuvius (of Pompei fame) and Mt Bromo (in Indonesia) which were both still smoldering.  I saw some very active mounts in Hawaii one time too.  Volcanology is quite interesting, but not my cup of tea for full-time work

Glad you had a great time!

Tas, I wish I'd seen some Etna action - last time she blew up we had ash landing on our roof in Malta! Still have some.
Then again, if that had happened last Saturday...  :p

Thanks for the pics, Van. I especially like the pic of the house buried in lava. Makes you wonder why people want to live near an active volcano. I also like seeing what members look like.

It's funny how much people enjoy seeing a snowfall when they've never seen one before. I react kind of the same way when it starts snowing here, but by March I'm thinking, "Damn, not more snow. I've had enough!"
