Hi

I think I am somewhere in between but verging on hoarding tendancies. I don't have the patience to be a true collector sniffing out all of the really hard to find stuff. And I don't have the stamina to keep on getting masses of the same figures.

So if I see some more SM infantry/rhinos/land speeders on ebay then I tend to give it a miss, pretty much regardless of how cheap they are. For certain of the Epic armies I reckon I probably do now have enough (apart from a couple of odd bits & pieces) for what I am likely to want/use.

The one exception to this, which probably nudges me into borderline hoarder, is my first loves of Epic- Titans and Imperial Guard. I think you can never have enough Leman Russes/Basilisks/SHT's!!
:D
There has always been something about massed IG tanks backed up by titans that has appealed.

Cheers

James

And yes, I know some of the numbers above aint impressive for you Primarch-types (an Primarch himself of course ?), but they feel like a fair hoard to me...

In the end, thats the only important yardstick. ?I too think I have a fair load of stuff, but its insignificnat compared to some. ?Then again, I find pleasure in knowing that I painted every dang one of them.

'The Master' himself has discussed his passion for collecting more than a few times, and the sacrifices he has made to accumulate the P-load. ?I cant or wont make some of them, but Im happy with what I have.

Wont stop me buying more though.... :p

Most people will be between to two extremes of Primiarch and Darkone, but will have a tendancy to one side or the other as we've seen from the posts already ?This is an interesting read to see where everyone lies on that curve! ?

Hi!

I agree. "Enough" is what each gamer determines it too be. As long as you feel "joyous" surrounded with your stuff its all good.  :)

Also, as Tas mentions, I dont play anything else, nor buy anything else. So its easy to accrue a lot of epic when you dont play anything else. Perhaps if I find another game to get into I'd stop getting so much epic.

Bit late off the draw on this one but I've come to the conclusion that the best way to describe myself would have to be "stockpiler".

I cheerfully admit I love the thrill of finding rare minis but I'm also totally unable to pass up a good deal on common ones or something that looks like it might make good conversion fodder.

I mean after all... you never know when you might need 17 packs of Vindiactors right... "just in case". :p

As such I don't mind "sharing the wealth" as need be. I think that overall in the last decade or so I've probably had roughly a 70% turn over in my miniatures collection for various reasons.

Personally, I fall on the collector side of the line.  I get bit by the 'Wow, that's a cool-looking model' thing quite a bit.

Witness my Eldar Falcon, the start of my 'Nid army, my Tau started that way (battlesuits, baby), and a whole bunch of War Machine and (near Primarch-load of)Confrontation minis.  Eventually I'll get around to painting all that stuff, really.

I also suffered from 'Hmmm... I need a model to cannibalize into a THawk.  There's this 1/32 scale A10 model, it's only $110, I'll get that!' which is still in the box :p .

I'm also a mix. I've got more of some things than i can sensibly use (7 40k scale Lemans, 24 40k Eldar jetbikes (can you say Epic mk2 "Wind Host" in 40k)), and more armies than i'll ever paint or play, but I'm also a big one for being able to field something from every part of the army list, "just in case". I'm not one for "rare" models, but once I stick together the bits of the Steel Legion cavalry conversions (10 of em, eep), for instance, I'll have something for every option in the IG 40k list. I think i'm already there in the Eldar 40k, Epic IG and Epic Squat armies.
