Strange smells are a part of any male's flat....think of what we can get upto...burping, farting, beer smells, currys, and then the less frequent ones, like being sick....
On the note of Chaos gods...is Tzeench the inventor/influence of modern art? Damn those bright colours!
And with Nurgle, someone (I think it was at Games Day) told me it was just an excuse not to paint well! I think it's about right!
Cheers
Chris

Quote (TuffSkull @ 04 2003 Nov.,07:20) | 3: Stereo for pumping out plenty of loud tunes & essential for painting. Accompanied by some of my larger WIP's. | This is an interesting topic in and of itself: What music do you paint and/or wargame to?
For myself, I prefer Classical for painting- with a strong emphasis on Military Marches and other martial airs (1812 overture, Wellington's Victory etc)
For gaming, more upbeat tunes are required. A number of excellent soundtracks usually fill the bill, such as "Last of the Mochicans", "Braveheart" etc. And when my IG boys do well I have a CD of "Panzer Marching Songs" which inspires them to further Victories on the Battlefield!
Dont get me wrong, I like rock etc as much as anyone, but find it too distracting when painting or playing. I leave that for other times and the dreaded 'commute to work'...

I usually "listen" to DVDs on my PowerBook.
Most of my painting takes place on the dining room table so I have my Games Workshop Painting TrayTM on the left side of the table and my PowerBook on the right.
Last time I painted I watched The Fellowship of the Ring, in preparation for the release of the extended version of The Two Towers which I have on pre-order with amazon.

TS,
What music do you paint and/or wargame to? |
I like listening to DVD movies in the background more than CDs.
Conan, Empire of the Sun, 13th Warrior, Ronin all have made good background for me.
I listen to CDs sometimes and also like Classical (Rachanioff, Grieg, Chopin, etc.).
I like the Hebrew folk songs and occasionaly some moody Russian ones.
Queen, Melo Yellow, Oingo Boingo make great rock background.
And once in awhile...
I listen to my roommate's country and western!
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I don't usually listen to music when I paint. Now that I think of it, I rarely listen to music at home. At work I have acquired some strange tastes lately, namely Rammstein. I can't understand how that, uh, "music" can somehow sound good.

I usually listen to Radio 2 at work, but at the moment we have BRMB (local station) on.
When I'm painting I'll listen to pretty much anything. If I'm painting something monotonous (Like terrain) I'll play something with a fast beat. It speeds me up. If I'm painting detail, I play slower music. Weird I know.
Music ranges from;
Sad Huey Lewis and the News Chris de Burgh 70's hits
Rock Thrills White Stripes King Adora
Fun Darkness Madness Badly Drawn Boy
And on.....
