I have two 3' by 4' board at home to play on them, as they provide a perfect sized area for BFG, as they are black w/ stars on one side, and a browny colour to match my Epic and 40k bases on the other....

Hi!
Tas, glad to see I'm not the only one who has played really big games.
They are a blast to play, but pretty labor intensive. The largest one I did was at a convention in Long Island NY in 1995. We used 3 6x4 tables for a whopping 18 feet long! It had 30,000 points per side and it was the forces of the Imperium versus an alliance of orks and chaos. The actual game lasted about 8 hours and had a total of 12 people playing on and off, with about 6-8 of them played the game the whole way through.
It was a marginal Imperial victory, something like 245 VP's to 195. I took some regular pictures which I gave away over the years. No digital camera back then, so I only have my memories.
The largest one I ran was at the Men at Arms hobby shop in Middle Island NY. Similar use of tables, but we pack nearly 40,000 points of Imperials versus the Tyranid horde. The Imperials won there more convincingly.
I plan to run ONE more mega-game. The all time biggest, at least 100,000 points per side. It will take a while to origanize (not to mention getting the forces together), but it will happen. This time I'll have pictures!

in the past when I played WHFB (2nd Edition) we use to play massive games of 18' x 6'
they were fun

Man, I am freaking there! I am flying from Oz and playing! Barring any additional minor Middle Eastern/North Korean skirmishes I may be obliged to attend of course

Hi!
I hear ya Tas. I've "shot the breeze" endlessly with other netepic members on the possibility of getting together somewhere in the US and making an epic convention where we could play such a game. A dream perhaps, but one I return to constantly.
Perhaps I could set up a webcam and transmit the game live?
Now that would be cool!

Primarch | That would be awesome- especially if you could get some sponsorship.
Live web transmissions from the battlefront would be just so cool. Would that beat the hell of the EoT as a "world event"

Indeed, enough of the extreme sports and film stuff... The Epic and BFG channel perhaps to get even more supscribers... lol
...Seriously, I agree that if this mega-mega battle happens, a live webcam would be truely superb to see....

100,000 points per side wow....
I would love to see/play in such a game. That would be an event worth a custom t-shirt and everything.

Hi!
Hmm...it makes me wonder if a "play by webcam" game is possible. With a webcam and microphone on each side you could see and hear the other player regardless of where the person is. I wonder is a regular standard game could actually be played like this.
Transmitting a large game by webcam, I beleive, is relatively simple, you set the time and let people net conference with you, play several hours then break for another day/time.
Hmmm..I must think more about this.

If you do deside to try a major battle gathering, keep us posted so we can see if we could bring our toys and play too

Hi!
I have polled the netepic group over the years to where in the US such a gathering could take place. As suspected its a toss up between east and west coast.
Where do forum members here live?

A fair way from either of your coasts really!
Unless you are talkig about the coast of Guam- thats the closest bit of the US to me. Been there a few times, nice place. Thats where the WW2 Japanese soldier hid in the jungle until 1972(?) thinking the war was still on!
