Thanks for all the well wishes guys- as you can see from my flurry of posts, I'm back from sea and have a few days at home before I depart again.
Special thanks to Cybershadow for organising the Painting Comp voting in my absence- sorry to drop that on you mate when I am the lead organiser.
For Info- the Poop deck is traditionally the aft raised platform, which is also know as the Quaterdeck. It relates to the phenomenon of "pooping" which is when the ship travels directly down sea and the swell breaks over the stern and can be quite dangerous. Pooping therefore can be classiifed as an 'extreme sport' for those of you who take its meaning literally!
BTW- does anyone have a contact for Dafrca? I'll be in his vicinity (ish) but he doesnt have any contact details here.
Ciao Tas

Hi!
I was planning on seeing that movie, so now that I know it seems to be good, perhaps I shall.

Haven't seen it yet, but Crowe is a great Actor- well when he is good he is an Australasian, when he does stupid things he is a Kiwi!

He does "Down Under" proud, even if he's playing a "Limey!"
Eat your limes or you'll get scurvy!

Tas,
BTW- does anyone have a contact for Dafrca? ?I'll be in his vicinity (ish) but he doesnt have any contact details here. |
I have his phone number and address and visited him earlier this year.
He has been playing it light with the hobby lately because he has a new baby on the way and the missus needs him.
Having said that, I think he'd be happy to get a visit.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

OK, I'll resurrect this personal thread (even though its a year old)...
..because (suprise suprise) its once again relevant.
I'm off to sea on Sunday for 4-5 weeks doing an exercise. ?I might be able to get online briefly but dont count on it. ?I'll look fwd to seeing the painting comp results when its over....
For those doing trades and stuff with me, we need to either finalise in the next few days or accept a 5 week delay. ?Dafrca & Doug your loot already is inbound!
The good news though, is that I wont be in this current job much longer. ?I have been selected for duties as Second in Command of a Guided Missile Frigate- a position which I will be taking up early next year. ?Naturally I am rather chuffed and excited with this honour!
Bad news - more sea time and away from home time! ?But thats kinda the fun bit too! and if you dont like sea time, you shouldn't be in the Navy anyway eh!
Back to trying to finish up the Word Bearers WIP before I go....
ciao! Tas

Wow - good luck and congrats Tas. Now when we start speaking of targeting missiles at peoples' faces - well er, we're not really serious, you know? (cheesy grin) Three cheers for Australia (as I delve into Jane's to see what range you've got....)

I _might_ even be able to come and say hi.
