Why...they've re-released heaps of their old plastics as metal figures and I doubt any were resculpted.

Indeed they did. And what have they done lately? Nothing but figs they created moulds for years ago.

I can't see them doing any effort to release Chaos Androids.

F/W said Necrons would be too spindly ?!??!?!?! :O ???  Have they looked at the bow las-cannon on their Leman Russ, the Sponson guns on the Baneblade, any weapon on an Eldar AFV !?  Have they looked at their new AI Firestorm ?!?!? All the ones I got were either bent like pasta or missing a barrel completely ?!??!  I'll get a replacment turret in a month or two ?!??!  I'm going to try to keep one stock, if I can get the barrels straight ?!?!  The others I'll rearm some how ?!?!  Oh I also forgot about most of the Tau and Kroot Infantry and some weapons on the Battle suits. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about Chimera's las-rifles ! :O  And I don't know why S/G just doesn't do a bunch of metal Chaos Androids.  And not F/W as the last thing we need is more much too fragile Infantry ! I'd buy a bunch of metal Androids - and as PG said, and as I always say, DRM Andys are great for Necrons, toasters, T-2s whatever.   :glare:

Ask about buying it yourself (a metal die would cost around 1000 pound in China according to industry friends) and then selling it/loaning it as a limited edition to SG?

Bear in mind everything made in china is stolen unless you have very high security so such things would crop up in odd places.

Making a bunch of the silcone frisbees they use for white metal casting would only cost a couple of hundred Pounds surely.....I'm guessing SG'd probably only need to sell 50 odd blisters to recoup costs.  We're half way there already.....

I would probably buy a few but I already got DRM figures for my necron army.

SG simply is too slow to satiate my hunger for miniatures ;)

Any idea why the original plan to cast all infantry in metal was dropped and now we have the plastic sprues?

To me, ?the problem is that you can easily build a necron army with proxies. ?I used ork boyz for warriors.

I would like to see destroyers or other models that are harder to get.

Paint an orkboy necron-ny and people will know it is a warrior.

I know that some of us are freaks who want to have 100% detail in a 6mm miniature. ?But most of the people play for the game and not for the models. ?So, ?to them, ?anything will do.

At least, ?that's what I believe.

There was some serious debating on the old playtest forum about this. Many people (including myself) had doubts as to wherther Epic would generate enough sales if all infantry was metal. Plastic core troops is essential if you want to build horde armies: Look at Siegemasters or Feral Orks for example: Imagine building a significant sized army with those prices...

Admitted: Warmaster already did this but plastic miniatures were readily available for many Epic armies.

If SG came out with a blister of them, I would buy a couple for Chaos.

While you are at it, could you please also suggest they make metal blisters for the basic tyranid troops? I mean termagaunts, hormagaunts and gargoyles. That'd be great, since the current list needs at least 25% of those on build up and I think a lot of us bug players have way more "larger" stuff like exocrines and malfactors and such.

Does anyone actually think that SG/GW is going to release any Epic figs now that they have released the Feral Ork and Chaos minis they had previously made?

Hmm could be.
And then is still believe the Siegmeasters infantry where the original metal Streellegion infantry :)
Iguess they allready had the moulds made and didn't want to waste them so gave the order to develope a "Krieg Siegemasters" armylist which later turned out to be Barans :D

I don't. I think Epic is on life support right now and GW will pull the plug soon. But then again, I'm a pessimist.
