Quote (Mojarn Piett @ 04 June 2006 (23:28)) | Quote (vanvlak @ 04 June 2006 (14:15)) | Another nice cat! And Tommy F-H is the first pic I ever saw of an extra-toed cat! Ours are: Cathode, Random, Macule, Dactyl, Tippex, Fox, Sepecat and Sarastro (Saro for short). Here's Tippex (in the basket) and Sepecat (with blue eyes). |
AAAAACCCHHHOOOO! COUGH! WHEEZE!
I hate cats. ?A half-hour within a house with cats and I feel like someone had parked a panzer division on top of my lungs. ? They are cute looking, though. | Well that means no sleeping over at my house for you. I will not allow gamers to die at my house.
Serious, sorry to hear about it. Cat and Dogs are things that it is hard to have alergies to. Person carries the cat or dog hair and dander on them.
Sorry about the cats.

Thanks for condolences. The sad thing is I actually love cats & dogs but I can't stand being near them for any period.
The nastiest surprise I had was when I last visited my aunt in Seattle and found out that since my previous visit she had taken in three cats. For the next week I took five doses of allergy medicine per day and still felt terrible. Oh well, such is life.
And for the record it IS true cats love to harass people who are allergic.

and people who don't like cats.... Not me, I want a couple of tigers and panthers lying around the house Nice cats Dafrca, we've replaced our curtains with blinds for that reason, our cat makes the strangest sounds when fly hunting. Poor Mojarn, who could think of a worst hex than being allergic to cats

Quote (dafrca @ 04 June 2006 (20:07)) | Sepecat looks very much like a cat we had named Baru. He passed away just before he turned 12. ?
Tommy has six toes on the front and five on the back. The Vet told us that is quite common in his breed. We got him from a box in front of the park where Maddy plays. Person was giving them away and no one wanted poor Tommy. Runt and six toes.... He is just fine. Little crazy, but fine. | It's always hard losing a pet... it's the most upsetting thing, they're younger than you when you get them, but they grow old so quick... For those reasons I don't know if we'll ever get anymore dogs or cats, it's just too hard to lose them...
But they do bring a lot of joy when you have them!
As for finding cats, I've got a good story. Four years ago I went to stay with my friend and his wife in Ohio. One day wew were going to the local store for some groceries, and we found a cat just roaming around on its own, no ID on its collar... so my friend's wife decided to take it in with their menagerie of cats and dalmation! I jokingly called it discount 'cause of where we found it... I believe they still call the cat that today!

Well it has taken me about 4 years but I think I have finally come to an understanding with my 2 cats. They can sleep where they like in the flat, on kitchen table, bed, sofa, chair etc so long as they keep clear of the painting table.
Mind you that's only whilst I am around. No doubt the little blighters make a point of sitting on my painting table when out at work. Another good reason for keeping all but one painting project away in figure cases until current project finished.
Cheers
James

My cats and I have an understanding as well. I give the rules in the house and they ignore me as often as they can.

When I had cats, whenever I was done painting, I had to cover up whatever it was I was working on. I had one cat in particular who, when I was away, would jump up on my table and bat things around. I have a distinct memory of finding Reaver weapons lying on the floor. She also liked to play with dice. So, whenever I wanted to leave an AH game set up, I had to cover it completely.

Spent Saturday Morning with the kids at the magic Kingdom. Maddy was so cute acting like the mother hen.
Once we were done, the kind folks agreed to let Daddy stop at Brookhurst Hobbies. Bought some Drivers for my Hover Jeeps, some heads from the Peter Pig Line, to make some conversions, and a couple more packs of extras.
Fun for the whole family.

Poor kid! I agree about the painkillers - avoid!
Do you manage to paint at night Dafrca? After a certain time I usualy faze out and shut down, and can only read, or at the very best scribble ideas on a piece of paper.

Child Panadol (syrup) is quite good and the small doses are recommnded for exactly this circumstance. I have used it several time to good effect on my little unss.
