There's a definite possibilty that I'll have the use of a spin caster in the not-to-distant future. If I do, I'll want to make a game, or at least some minis.
So, the question is, what game would you recommend I do? What game would you actually pay for? (provided the rules/minis/cost all met your approval.)

Ideas I have so far:
A 54mm scale SF Boarding Party game (think Inquisitor meets Space Hulk)

A 6mm Starfighters game.

A 6mm Tanks / War engines type game, but with more emphasis on detailed rules for the War engines, and with terrain playing an important part.

A 6mm Giant Robots game - basically AT, with campaign system, upgrade parts for the models etc.

Or if you have any other ideas, please let me know!
Or if you think it's pointless insanity to even try, let me know!

Once I've made a decision, I can start practising sculpting the right scale / style, so that when I get the spin caster, hopefully I'll have the standards of my work good enough for production.

Anyway, please vote!
Regards,
Reaver

I'd like to see both 6mm Tanks/War Engines and 6mm Robots. If I had to choose only one, I guess I'd vote for the 6mm Tanks, because I already have Adeptus Titanicus for 6mm robots.

Definately 54mm boarding parties. Cool, large scale minis, Space Hulk like cinema style. Throw in a warband advancement system and I will certainly buy in to it.

There are already a fair number of 6mm/giant robot games battling for my attention.

Keep us updated with this project.

How about you get some Monolith masters from someone?

Fantasy or Sci-fi naval warfare, Man O War style for Fantasy, or something completely new for sci-fi naval battles. I'm tempted to say Victorian sci-fi, but that's a bit of a niche speciality...

Otter's suggestion of giant arthropods (Nids, right?) and PG's Monoliths raise the real issue here - I'd love to do good quality models for Epic. But that just isn't possible - IP issues would rear their ugly heads the moment any large scale casting started. And if the models are different enough to avoid IP problems, then they'd also be too different to satisfy my need for accurate, recognisable Epic stuff.

So, given that I won't be doing Epic stuff, what would be worth doing?
Thanks for the suggestions already, BTW!
Regards,
Reaver

I dont think anyone will be suprised when I say I agree with V - you want to do something that is different, thats what will capture imagination, and by extension, sales

Off the top of my head and going with the 6mm Stafighters suggestion above, a Squadron level game would be very interesting.  Fights could be as big as you like then, and there are some great possibilities for fighter squadron mechanics in a campaign game.  Just a thought

6mm AFVs - they don't have to look like G/W's stuff ... They can be "proxies" for Epic or any other 6mmSFWG.  Both DRM and E/W are doing rules, too ...  So you just can't have too many AFVs. IMO ! :;):

Just to be completely different, and off the wall :confuse:  I've always had a hankering for a game which pits soldiers in big (10-15 foot) tall 'Exo' or combat suits against each other.  Think of those battle suits in Matrix Revolutions and you'll be along the right line... infact, that's what gave me the idea in the first place! :D

I guess such minis could be anything from 15mm-30mm in scale (perhaps 54mm will be too big).

Other than that, I like the 54mm Sci-fi boarding party game, throw in some neat aliens, and I'll be there!  Of course, it helps that I'm planning to make a Space Ship interior board at somepoint during the next 18 months :;):

Much as I'd love to see more 6mm tanks etc I do agree that there's already quite a few companies supplying these so I've gone for 6mm star fighters, still could be proxied if necessary.

Actually, I meant robots that looked like arthropods, not Tyranid looking things.

If you happened to watch Battle of the Planets (a US/UK/Canadian/Australian version of the Japanese Gatchaman), every episode featured some sort of giant metal robot war machine. That's the sort of thing I'm thinking of.
