Quote (netepic @ 01 2005 April,09:10) | actually the mothers aren't that bad, it is the fathers who tend to despise me | In previous relationships, I have a habit of actually getting on better with both of the parents than the daughter!

I'll be at Salute (with two young kids in tow) - easy to spot, I'll be the one screaming uncontrollably at a pint sized kid!
On the other subject of this thread, I had to marry my wife, her parents were the only ones of all my girlfriends to like me!

Well, it turns out that I have been saved and I will be there after all. However, I dont know how long I will be able to stick around for (like last year, we usually get there early and then I had to agree to treat the gf to lunch somewhere, probably Dim Sum).
So, what are the meeting plans? Even if I cant make it, anyone who recognises me is encouraged to make themselves known to me. Also, I am not even going to bother taking my camera this year. Every year GW puts on less of a show and I seriously doubt that there will be anything worth photographing. On the off-chance that I am wrong, and also that someone does get pictures, feel free to host them on my site!

Cool. I guess that the meeting point is the front foyer. What time? (Earlier is better for me...)

So don't blame me but I don't understand where we are supposed to meet... I mean, the idea of me crying "I'M BIGGA AND GREEN WHO AM I?" is oddly appealing, but I'm sure there are better ways...

Quote (Zerloon @ 21 2005 April,18:50) | So don't blame me but I don't understand where we are supposed to meet... | Just inside the front entrance. There is a railing overlooking the stairs down to the lower level (where IIRC they have the "bring & buy".
See here for further details: http://www.salute.co.uk/saluteframe.htm
So what time then? 12? 12.30?
Cheers

OK. I should decide. Meeting is:
Place: Main foyer. As you go in the main entrance, you will see the foyer where before you enter the hall proper. This is where those without Q-Busters pay on the way in. I suggest meeting there. Note that this may require you to leave Salute officially, so make sure that you get your hand stamped so you can get back in.
Time: 12:00
How does this sound? I am still not sure if I will be able to make it, but I will do my best and I will have my camera (a change of heart).

*breaks cover for the first time in ages - sorry for my absence!*
I'll be there, 12 at the entrance. I've met most of you before, but if you cant see me, look for the shambling pile of cases. I should have got rid of most of them by then, but I'm going loaded with at least 6 cases / bags full of minis!

Well, Salute has been and gone. I met up with Paul (Tuffskull), Doug (darkone26) and James (wargame insomniac) for a coffee and a very enjoyable chat.
To be honest, I found the event a bit disappointing. GW and FW were there, but nothin new and a bit of a tired showing from them really. They did have the blister packs of the Eldar stuff, including the Scorpion and Cobra.
I ended up just getting a few GZG Full Thrust ships, and not much else.
