I'm well versed with the Edition 2 rules (or at least was), are these still the most widely used or are people using the Edition 4 rules mostly now? From what I've learnt the Edition 3 rules were not entirely popular, (I've never seen a copy of them myself).

The most popular rules today are the 4th edition rules (Epic: Armageddon).
Second most popular is probably NetEpic, which is a fan-written development of 2nd edition, which was created because they were disatisfied with 3rd edition... it lives on to an extent even today.
