Good luck with that force structure ... but some Mech Infantry would help ... in most cases ! :;):

my idea of a sentinel wasto sort of be able to get into firing range early..coverewd by artillery and then clean out all the little hiding ppl...especially if sentinels are in big groups of 1 million

I assume you'd not be using this army in 3k point tourney settings?

I'd give it a bash

3 co of russ ~ 1950pts
1 co of Artillery ~ 650pts
1 Mech company ~ 400pts

ok so its only 5 activations but the russes have really good survivability and can take a hell of a pounding. in most cases you only need worry about disrupt weapons. As an alternate list you could drop the artillery and take a super heavy tank co to deal with titans and a flak battery to deal with fliers.

Niether option is really flexible but fits with the sledgehammer tactics you expect from the IG

I think taking an Armoured Regiment list would actually be a superior choice, as it's considerably more flexible (Within its Armoured Vehicle constraints) than the Steel Legion armoured formations.

My IG AR Bns/Rgts have Sentinels ... we still use the old SM1 TO&Es ... And they also have Salamanders ... now ... :;):   And that is a good example of Combined Arms, hazpak !

Use the Armoured Regiment list and add a SC to one company or somesuch, and then you've just got one BTS again.

Of course the list is completely untested. :D
