I toyed with tyhe idea of starting Karate traininng. So much for that idea. I think I'll settle for the traditional Finnish way of self-defense (i.e. a knife) as it seems to be far safer... |
Personally i think I'll be training the venerable marshall art called "sublime 500 m sprint" ...or chickening out in plain english
Congrats Tas ...sory about the broken nose though

Thanks Gents - swelling down now, no black eyes (suprisingly) and a minor fracture only. A slightly kinked nose adds to my tough, piractical persona! Ahhhgggh!
Been very busy this week- first time here for a week. Very rare for me. Hope you are all well.
Mojarn- knives are nasty. get a gun. or a tank! WMN - avoidance is always the best policy

I agree, if it is not too bad, t=it will add to the overall impression.

Hi Tas,
I'm curious... if you're willing and have the digital camera handy... take a shot for us.
I hope that you heal quickly.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Well 12-14 hr days at work arent leaving me much time for gaming after karate and family as well. Cest le Navy!
I've got a old gaming friend coming around today to see how many games we can play - I say 6 today. Mostly fun card based games like "Down in Flames" but a few others such as Memoir '44. We are having a round robin to see who is the overall winner and will have celebrity apearances by my kids where appropriate. Stay tuned for results!
Otherwise I have been quiety updating my Blog and today made my first purchase on Ebay since Jan - 5 Iron Giants! Just the thing for that menacing VSF Prussian Army!
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws....IT&rd=1
Beat that price GW!

Still dragged my butt to work ! ? I needs the $$$ for DRM Wave 2, 6mm Slammer Decals, etc. ! ?The war does not stop !

Thanks boys!
The Games Day went well:
Ivanhoe (GMT Card based Jousting and Knight Tourney game) - Wiiner was Reilly! yes 2 grown men were beaten by a 5 year old.....
Memoir '44 (Eastern Front Expansion) - I narrowly grasped a win using the Russians for the first time. Lots of lovely amrour and infantry, but VERY hard to control them.
Wings of War (ww1 Dog Fighting) - Vicotry to me in my Nieuport 17s in a 2 v 2 dogfight over the Italian Front. 1 Less Hun to worry about now!
Command and Colours (GMT Games, Ancients) - James took out a naroow 5:4 Victory using Romans against my Carthiginians in this interesting Ancients game. Plays very much like Memoir 44
Down in Flames (GMT games, WW2 Dogfighting) I got totally wiped out fo the skies!. My Corsairs and Avenegers were totally out classed and out played by jame's Zeros and the Rising Sun was victorius.
All in all a great day being tied 2 games all between James and I. We will have to find another chance for a decider

I unearthed a treasure today while packing up my modelling station for the next few months (a sad but necessary procedure when going back to sea)
A solitare game called "Thunderbolt:Apache Leader" by GMT games which puts one in the cockpit and as Squadron CO in various conflits. It has a tactical and a Strategic component too which is rather cool.
At least I have something to do in my "down time" at sea now!
