The genuine article?

A private listing whatever that is.

I can't get this link to work, TRC. Any chance of an item number?

Highly unlikely that's legit... he has loads of other private listings (That means we can't see what was sold), which most likely were large ammounts of undercoated Baneblades.

I had a fiddle around with what I think is the item number for these, and got this auction:
http://tinyurl.com/28ndkg

Is this the right one? If so, it's got me slightly worried, because I won 3 Shadowswords of this guy a couple of weeks ago, and haven't received them yet...

Reaver

I agree that anything with "private" auctions sets off alarm bells.

The guy's other auctions are also big lots, like full warhammer formations.  It's a large variety of stuff, many of which are bare metal.  That doesn't really fit with the normal recast fraud pattern of a handful of different minis which are all basecoated.

The guy has 100% positive feedback with over 200 points.  Even accounting for the fact that most buyers won't care or possibly even know the minis aren't genuine, I would expect if he were defrauding people that one or two would have spotted it and posted negative feedback.

Overall, it's a tough call but I'd probably bid on the guy's stuff.

If you're really worried, you can get buyers' email addresses from the feedback list even though the auction is hidden.  You could email them to ask.

When my Shadowswords turn up I'll hopefully be able to tell if they are recasts. One thing does worry me though - I emailed him to complain about how long they were taking, and he's just replied that they were sent a week ago, but not to worry, because if they're lost in the post, he'll just send me some more!
Either he hadn't really sent them yet, or he has a mysterious everlasting supply....
Regards,
Reaver

Large lots of the same mini(s), primed up nice and full, always make me nervous...

Though, maybe he's a GW employee in the casting department!

Very dubious, even in the auctions he has pictures of bare metal models, the detail mentions that they are actually undercoated.. I'm sure GW would like to talk to this guy..

Although I'am tempted by more Wraithguard...  is it that wrong

priming them could conceal what it is they are made of..eg resin
