Okay, probably not the best place to start this thread...

I'm trying to get a single part for conversion purpose, and started looking at the online store... This doesnt' make sense the prices of them.

I guess that producing single parts probably cost more.... but it seems a bit ridiculous.

Example
http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefr....gnav=10

The box set with 8 models cost ?15.

A set of 5 bodies cost= ?6
backpacks x8 = ?4
Box looks like it has at least one special weapon arm =?2.50

anyway, I'm sure you can do the maths.

Doesn't this seem to put people off when you want bits to do conversions?

Sorry, me having a bad day and having a moan

Bits has allways been more expensive that complete models. Not much but usually just some 10-20%. At least it is still possible to get bits for 40k.
It's really frustrating that they don't seel either Epic of BFG bits anymore
I suppose the pricing is a combination of storage, and the resolurces in terms of manpower to pick out the right bitz from the stock.
Anyway I agree that bitz are expensive but they are still cheaper that buying the entire model if you only need a single part.

Cheers!:)

GW bits have always been more expensive, validated by the fact that they cant spin up a single bit, and so if there is anything specific that you want, they have to make the whole batch. That being said, what irritates me more is the fact that the sprues have obviously been made to make it more difficult to get parts. For example, it used to be that a sprue would hold a number of complete figures, and then maybe an extra sprue was added for special weapons. Now, most minis have their arms or legs on a different sprue to their heads and bodies, meaning that you just have to buy the boxed set.

hmm... now there's a thought.

I only want the Back-pack... may be able to profit from this.

Let's see...

5 standard Emperor's Children Model, 2 with special weapons (hopefully), and one leader without a back-pack.

5 Standard Marine say at ?2.00 each (1.50 each + .50 for backpack)

2 special weapon ones say at ?4.50 each (1.50 +2.50 for weapon and + .50 for back-pack)

1 captain without backpack say ?1

(redoing maths as a sprue of 4 marines cost ?6 and calculating cost per parts)

that's ?20 hmmm... and the box cost ?15... but then P&P so lets say the price above it is with P&P and only shipping to the UK....

Anyone want any Emperor's Children? ?:D
