Read this guy's post on Bartertown. Maybe I'm missing something but does his reason for wanting to pay you double an item's value make NO SENSE whatsoever?
He refuses to pay retail, yet he wants to pay double retail value. I don't get it.
Is this guy being slippery or am I just a loose nut behind the keyboard?

He doesn't want to pay money, he's saying he'll *trade* more than retail value in figures back. Not unreasonable if you have lots of figs you'll never use and can't get be bothered selling them for cash to buy more stuff.
