From the games workshop site, it looks like the Fire Dragons and Dire Avengers are new casts.

Now it seems they sell the packet with 9 stands... so does that mean 4 of one and 5 of another? Seems an odd number to come in.

Are these already mounted on the base? or do you mount them yourself?

Anyway, I'm looking for a sample, whether it is a single minature or a stand. Willing to trade.

You get 4 stands each of Fire Dragons and Dire Avngers + 2 of each type Exarch. This means that you don't quite get the 9 stands. The minis are cast the same way as the other new metal infantry ie. with the usual small round base which you glue to the plastic troop stands.

yep that helps. So anyone interested in trading me some samples? or even pictures would be nice so i can decide whether to splash for them as i already have loads of the original plastic ones.

Presumably the exarchs are repeated in the Avatar set, have a look at that thread to get an idea. ps I'm only guessing as I don't have the dire/fire set but exarchs for both are in the aforementioned blister.

So with the "Y/King" and F/Drag. & D/Avenger pack you get 2 sprues of Exarchs with each pack ? ???  So if you buy one of each pack, you'll get 4 Exach sprues total ?  Yes ?!    :;):

The DA/FD pack has the aspects + 1 spure which contains 2 FD Exarchs and 2 DA Exarchs.

If you plan on getting a lot of FD or DA Exarchs then that pack would be better value for the money. You only need THAT many Avatars! :p :;): Still it would be cool with a dedicated Eldar infantry character pack...
