Hi all, if anyone is interested, the local model shop has a 50% off sale on Chainmail miniatures. They've only got a limited range, and they've been there unsold for several years now. a few lots more Best I could do so far. Help, anyone? Cheers. PS - they're rpg/fantasy skirmish miniatures, with the usual blend of human, elf, dwarf, orc and undead races as well as a werewolvish crew. Scale is slightly smaller than GW. |

Hi all, I'll go check what's available tomorrow: so far we have an interest in: - grotnaughtic-conversion potential - roboty stuff - anyone for the Felldrakes Warmaster suggested? - the entire stock (Primarch)  I'll also see if I can get an idea on postage costs. The shop won't deliver abroad, so I'll have to cater for that myself. Countries interested so far are US Puerto Rico UK Denmark? Local mail costs are: Not exceeding 1Kg in weight Lm0.5 Exceeding 1Kg but not 3Kg Lm0.76 Exceeding 3Kg but not 5Kg Lm1 Exceeding 5Kg but not 10Kg Lm1.20 with 2.3Euro or 3US$ = 1LM Postage abroad would obviously be much higher, but it seems I'd have to go to the local PO to find out by how much. If anyone can find an online catalogue of these thingies it would be a real help! Then again, if I'm tempted, I might buy a few beasties myself.....take pics... So, seeing that I'll be going tomorrow, anyone requiring any research please step forward!

Hi all, well the expedition was a partial success. I got some stuff for myself, and they're quite nice, although the humans are a bit thin for my taste. Anyway, I got: interruption - WARNING - I GAVE THE FULL PRICE BELOW - SO ALL COSTS ARE TO BE DIVIDED BY 2 FOR THE 50% DISCOUNT!!!) a Stone Spike (a stone elemental thingy) Lm3.33 (7.7E, 10US$) 2 skeletal dogs (nice!) Lm3.33 (7.7E, 10US$) an Abysmal MAw (a bit like a Squig with hands) Lm3.33 (7.7E, 10US$) A Hammerer Lm4(12US$, 9.3E)(link) A human glaivier (part of a set of 3 models) A very nice war ape, looking like an infuriated babboon with metal gauntlets. (very cheap at LM2.40 - 5.6E, 7.2US$) Justin, I purchased the sorcerer and an ogre - if you've changed your mind, there's no problem, I'd be happy to keep them. sorcerer Lm3(9US$, 7E) ogre (but the one I found has a wooden club and a snarl) Lm4(12US$, 9.3E) The paladin Justiniel asked about and the Felldrakes Warmaster suggested as Eldar steeds are available only in starter packs costing Lm11 (25.6E, 33US$) for the paladin (with 5 other human models and a Hammerer) and Lm6 (US$18, 14E) for 2 Felldrakes, with 2 elf models, a sorcerer and a warrior. I also have 2 extra Hammerers at the price above, if anyone is interested. Maksim, who asked for things robotic, has 1st dibs, with CS second, as it's not the one he asked about - or you can have one each. ANd if you're not interested, anyone else can have them - I'm tempted to keep them myself. Postage has to be checked, but they're light enough not to exceed LM1, I'd say - this does mean a 75% cost rather than 50%, of course. I would also accept a trade of course. If anyone else wants anything, there are some gnolls, gnomes, orcs (including a nice orc druid), a starter set with a mix of models (LM11), army starter sets (LM11 each) for Ahmut's legion and Mordengard, more human sorcerers and skeletal dogs, a few humans, some zombies, a centaur firing a bow, another stone spike, a set with a hobgoblin, an ogre and a goblin for LM6, and some dwarfs. The costs for the single models vary between LM2.40 to LM4. No hurry - they're still not shifting. The quality is good, although the detail is not GW standard. Some flash, but cleaning is easy. The humans and elves appear a bit thin, bit this is perhaps because of GWs chunkier designs. The Hammerer is a bit bland, but can be detailed, or painted up, to look better. A small Squat Titan is one possible application. The arms are separate, and philospohers of L-4's school of thought can fit the close combat weapons with long range arms easily. Cheers, John

I will pass on the Hammerer, thanks. I did find a couple of catalogues: Here - under the 'singles' category And here I am tempted by the Strone Spike, and the Abysmal Maw. But, I will only take these if no-one else is interested, as I really dont need them! (Not like I need Epic stuff! )

Er, actually I'm keeping both Maw and Spike! but the shop has an extra spike if you want it. And wait 'til you see what I'm planning for the Maw.... (gloat). Er - don't hold your breath, though..... |
