Post subject: | Need Opinions ~ Epic in store for 20% off? |
Hello, I am looking to make some possible additions to my online store and I would like to get a few opinions from the epic users. I just aquired a distributer license from a large distributer (GW will not give me one) and I can get GW products. The down side is that the discoutn they offer is not the same as the normal GW discount, and the returns are rather low. As of now I figure I could discount the epic items in my store about 20%. I can also ship up to 6 blister packs worldwide for around 6.00 with the wonderful flat rate envalopes from the USPS. Now my question is, what are the hot epic items out right now. I intend to get at least a set or two of the ferel orks and a few of the other boxed sets, but are many people after the older releases. Please let me know what you think. Thanks |

Anything off is better then full price. You will also need to take into account the shiping costs. GW does offer free shipment for orders over $100. It does not take much to break $100 at GW. Other then that, if the % is too low, it may not pay for your time to take the order, fill the order, pack the order, verify the order and charge the order. Keep in mind, CCs cost you, the retailer momey to take. dafrca |

So do you have a link to your shop? ![]() Stock wise some people could be prepared to be in advance with a long wait for you to get the stock in and send it out (based on a 20% cut). |

The $6 flat postage worldwide sounds pretty schmick to me. There are a few of the new range I'd pick up at 20% off RRP. For "stock" items, you'd have to think any of the better value infantry sets would do ok if Ebay is anything to go by. |

You can make GW bitz orders with your setup? I didn't think you could do that. As for what you should carry in the store, I would sugesst that you carry all of the "new" models - both the models of units that didn't exist in previous editions (like the IG vulture and valkyrie), and the models that were resculpted and look better (like the Eldar EoVs and revenants). Also, any and all plastic infantry boxes. I think you can leave out alot of items that are just rehashes of older model lines, like the ork gun wagons, metal SM vehicles, etc. Basically, leave out the stuff that can be had cheaply on ebay. I doubt the kind of people who bought the new-style rhinos and land raiders are the type who go looking for a bargain (although, they are the kind of customers that a business owner wants). |

Just looking through and the epic range especially - with your shipping it seems cheaper than us ebay. Have you considered offloading stock there as buy it now with a mark up to cover ebay costs? Only one suggestion for improvement - do you think it would help to have years the model came out/edition next to the descriptions? Note to everyone - lot of quality epic40k for less than E:A prices. Eg 2 multipart deathstrikes for $12 instead of gw's $10 for one inferior model, 3 different fighta bombers for $6.50 instead of GW's $10. Hope the business turns a happy profit! |

Yes, I've been greedily eyeing many of Chaosorc.com's offerings for some time now, but since I'm limited to $100 a month, I have to move slowly. So let me just say this: if anyone picks up this particular IG item before I do, I'll hunt you down and personally put ketchup packets under the tires of your car! So help me, I will! Chaosorc -- I'd say definitely go for the discount scheme, if you can get away with it (no telling how long before the GW lawyers break your kneecaps in the middle of the night). |

For what's it worth, Chaos Orc did me a great deal when we decided to get back into epic. A little better than some ebay prices but MUCH less hassle than ebay. (I just got an army from canada that he stuff, metal and plastic, overfilling a cereal box and wondered why I was upset when stuff came in pieces instead of assembled and whole). |

Hi! Thats a good percentage. If you are making money with it, I'd say stick with it. Primarch |

I've had a lot of deals with Chaosorc and he's a very good seller, particularly interesting because of his low shipping prices. Epic stuff is often pricey but when you are in hurry things are sometimes priceless. And for non-OOP stuff his prices are very competitive. Go chaos orc!! ? ![]() ![]() ![]() If you can sell GW stuff at 20% off, go for it. In the worst case, ask for a delay so you can stock on order, so you don't waste money piling up stuff that doesn't sell. I'm sure customers will agree to wait several weeks for such a rebate. I would! As for what you should sell, I concur with other posters: the most interesting stuff consists of truly new E:A miniatures. For patient gamers like us, we can always wait for an eBay auction for those all-too-common OOP miniatures. At some point in the future, I plan to buy a bulkload of Ork miniatures, but I don't like OOP ones at all. Your store would come handy for my purchase. Keep us informed! ? ![]() |

Sorry, I blew right past that part of your post. I'd suggest Titans -- they're horribly overpriced on GW's website, and if you can get them into the market for less than GW is asking, it might be a win-win kind of thing. |
