Not being a chaos player I haven't been keeping track of the price of the old plastic Chaos sprues... which is the problem.

Someone has just offered to sell me no less than 17 almost complete sprues... would anyone care to perhaps venture a guess at what a "fair value in cash" would be for all of them?

They'll probably just end up as trade bait here so... any advice on pricing would be greatly appreciated on my end.

I'm tight compared to many and would never go above 2 pound a sprue for the old ones. Too many dead minitures, indeed I would prefere to stick to a pound a sprue!

Chaos sprues are one of the 'rare three' for me - the others being Squats and Tyranids. These would probably fetch a higher price than other types of sprue. Seventeen, complete would be worth a fair amount, perhaps 50 pounds.

(And I would be interested in any that are available! Heck, I would probaby pay 50 pounds for the lot!)

I was thinking about this, and realised that it depends on which Chaos sprues we are taling about here (I was thinking of the larger ones). There are the older, small sprues with Chaos Squats, and then the larger, third edition ones which are double-sized with Terminators and beastmen and cultists.

Thanks both Chris and CyberShadow...

I honestly had no idea there were two types of sprues. I'll get that cleared up before anything else goes any further.

Indeed the big ones (more recent) are far better and I'd be very keen too! The old ones. Well how many chaos marine legions can one have?

Never enough... :D

Or, 9 traitor legions, plus the Red Corsairs

Take your pick of answers.

Agreed, the newer ones are better. I do like the older sprues, but for me it's not a matter of having too many Chaos Marines (I'm with Neal on this, can't have too many :p ), but rather how many Khorne Juggers or Slaanesh Beasts or (fill in the blank) do I really need.

To address the original question...

The big sprues will likely retail at 2 for $20 US like the other infantry boxes (assuming they are re-released as planned).  The little sprues' would then be roughly the equivalent of $5 US retail each.

Personally, I aim for 50% of retail or less on second hand minis if paying cash, but anywhere in the 50-75% price range is reasonable imho.  For a trade, I'd simply go at 1:1 estimated retail value.

The corsairs being chaos is annoying - why can they just not be pirates or traitorous cut throats.

Hi!

I like your percentage range. I live by the "less than 50% retail rule" too....  :;):
