This auctioner has several CIs up for bid. In looking at the models, they look a bit off, as if they were copies. I'd like to get y'all's opinions on it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....IT&rd=1 Are they legit? |

Hi! I saw those listing last night. They are definately copies. Pretty good ones though, I'd get them if they can be had cheap. Primarch |

They might be pretty good copies, but I agree, if they're cheap, they might be worth it ... |

Hi! I'd say no more than 10 bucks plus shipping. Anything more isn't worth it. Primarch |

This looks like one of those we'd discussed some time ago on this list - the one with the casting holes in the sides - these can be seen on this model too. |

Whilst I am suspicious that these look suprisingly similar to other copy casters who've used ebay in the past ( macace etc. - slight differences in the parts included, white undercoat can hide alot of sins - strange that he should have _five_ to undercoat level and none have been painted....), the only holes I can see on the sides are those that are inthe original CIs as well, as can be seen here: My CI - straight from the blister If there are indescrepencies, what are they as I'm clearly missing something and it would be worth looking out for in future. |

I have to agree with Tuff. I can't find any physical signs on the model to indicate it is a recast either. However it is quite suspicious that he has 5 model for sale! When I buy form E-bay I prefer models to be either horribly painted or in mint condition. Horribly painted minis require some cleaning but you can be pretty sure that it is the original product underneath. All this undercoating business is just fishy IMO ![]() Cheers! ![]() |

Hi! I base my assumptions on several points: 1. More than one of these auctioned at the same time. 2. Primed. That way its easy to cover up what you dont want to be seen. 3. Last time I checked no one had bid on some of these. We're not the only ones who suspect their fakes. If only one of these were present I wouldn't mind. But I dont beleive in coincidence, so buyer beware. In any event bid 10 bucks on them, even if they are copies they'd still be a good deal at that price. Primarch |

I think its quite oviously a recast, due to the reasons stated by Primarch. Like a said the last time this topic came up... Recasts are fine by me so long as the seller states very clearly that all buyers should contact him/her before bidding so that the seller can inform them that its a recast. And also the price should be set with the "Buy it Now" function "in this case for no more than ?5" Recasts like this are cool by me, so long as they are good quality and the buyer is made fully aware of what they are getting ![]() |

Hi! I agree with Kr00za. Its not an issue of being a recast. I would pay gladly for a good recast model if I could get it, but its dishonest to pass one off as a legit one. Primarch |
