After carefully reviewing all my Epic figures (and I have a LOT - given that I started with Adeptus Titanicus and bought a large army's worth of figures each time that Epic got a relaunch), I discover I have some spare. Not spare as in "I'll never get around to painting these, but I can dream", but spare as in "I really don't need these taking up space - why not trade them for something else I'm never likely to get around to painting?" It turns out that I've got a reasonable amount of Orks I don't want. Basically 3 complete and intact E40k infantry sprues - including Stompas - plus the 12 customixable battlewagons from E40k (I think that the 3 infantry sprues and the wagons I have is the Orky contents of the E40k boxed game), plus a handful of Space Marine era stands of infantry (120 Boyz - but they are on the small side compared to later figures; perhaps they would make better Grots in E:A?) and 18 more wagons. With the new lists, I've discovered that there is other stuff I *do* want but don't want to pay full price for, or stuff where the model has changed. I'm after unpainted E40k era Imperial Guard metal models - particularly a single Deathstrike launcher (apparently they have to be firelded in pairs, now), a Shadow Sword, some extra Basilisks or Manticores, or any Leman Russ/Hellhounds/Chimera-type things. Any ex-Guardsmen out there who are feeling a bit Orkish and fancy organising a trade? |

I mix the smaller Orks and bigger Orks freely. You'll see over the years the figures got a little bigger ... |

Yes, with an "irregular" army like the Orks, different figures of different sizes on each base may actually help make them look better! But I was also thinking that they'd make adequate Grots, and given the necessity for the little snivelling gits in the current list I thought that option might appeal to someone. Although there's a lot there, the real value in my sprues are the three complete Ork sprues plus E40k transports - with the three of them, they have about as much infantry on them as the current ?12 Ork Warband, with much more variety and specialist figures that aren't available from GW at the moment; and althought the new metal wagons are slightly nicer, they work out at ?2 each from GW! |

I was quite glad when they made some of the epic models a tad bigger. Although the classic models are prolly truer in scale they where far too fiddly. The Ork Warbike being a good example, the new plastic ones are about twice the size of the classic metal ones. I use the old one to decorate my bases mostly. |
