Im looking to put together a epic 40k table and Im looking for some things. Terrain Tiles with road sections, or anything cool like that, Forgeworld buildings would be amazing, but anything cool that fits, let me know! if anyone knows were to find some quality stuff, please let me know too. Wow, it amazes me the stuff I learn from you guys on this site. I had no idea there were so many little companies making their own 6mm stuff. Has anyone bought or used these: http://gcmini.mybigcommerce.com/double-lane-roads/ I love that round-about, but was wondering which street size works best for Epic... I think 1 lane is too small, and arent sure about the 2 lane or 4. I guess I would be happy with a Land Raider looking natural on a road, but the road doesnt have to be too wide. Does anyone have any pics of using these or comments on these? |

Used them. They're great (and easy to hack up to make battle scenes with if you're into the whole modeling aspect) I'd actually suggest a combination of widths in a collection (they've got adapters for switching # of lanes) which imho keeps things from looking too "samey". Another alternative is to use a hex based system (GCminis and others make them). Your call. |

Also, don't spend good money on OOP FW buildings. They were good for the time but really are poor quality compared to modern 3rd party lines available at usually a fraction of the cost. |

Sure the single lane will work. I'm not really following the question. They all are 6mm so fit fine. |

Well I guess I was thinking .5 inch wide was really narrow. I think a Land Raider would be wider. So I was trying to envision a Land Raider on a stretch of road and was wondering if a 2 lane would work, or if I would have to go 4 lane. It looks like these are for those micro-armor minis, and usually those vehicles are smaller than Epic minis, but all I see on the site's pics are the micro armor ones. |

AHHHH ok sorry I was being dense (still early for me) Yeah the real question is if you base your vehicles. If so, I'd go for the larger lanes if you're only doing a single type. The double lane roads are about perfect though the 4 lane highway is great if you want a major viaduct. |

I like the authentic buildings for geek value, and usually when I find a good deal - since theyre worth their weight in gold it seems. Ive ordered some st uff off Wasteland studios, Chris being a calgary kid, he works at my LGS so when I found out he was selling them I made a good size purchase. Im still assembling the buildings but Im pretty happy with them. Those bone yard forts are amazing, its got me thinking about backing the project, but 135 gbp is a bit steep. Game craft is a wicked source too. I really like their roads and epic tiles, super well priced. I just havent really found anyone that uses these for epic 40k. Does anyone have any pictures of this set in action? |

You also can make road tiles/strips from ceramic floor tiles. It can be time consuming, but they are sturdy, you can choose the texture you want, and if you have access to a tile saw (through a friend or cheap cuts at Home Depot), the economy of scale can make it worthwhile. Worth considering, anyway. I inherited a box in a trade, and while I don't use them, they do look pretty good. Plus, they weigh a ton, so you won't accidently move them while you play! |
