Hello everyone,

Please pardon any mistakes in this post, this is my first!

Until recently, I did not know that Steam Gargants existed and apparently missed a chance to buy one on Ebay. Are they impossible to find now and would cost a small fortune to acquire? I do not have anything to trade so it would have be a purchase, but my budget is quite small. Should I give up on ever finding another and try to make a similar one using parts of a gargant with tank treads?

Also, can anyone confirm the size of this gargant? Is it based on the three tiered body of the old Great Gargant or smaller like a Slasha?

Thank you and sorry for all of the questions!

Guano

The 40K wikia site has a pic with some infantry in it for scale, there are more on google images too.

I'd say it's fairy rare, mainly because it was quite a new model by epic standards and feral orks were not a "core" army (i.e. there aren't millions of armies floating around like there are marines).

If you are considering building one, I would just do that.

Edit: this is a good pic: http://www.ifelix.co.uk/games/gamesday2 ... 57_jpg.htm

From what I've seen, they do pop up on ebay from time to time but invariably end up selling for a small fortune, yeah. If you don't have the money to spend it might be wiser to try to scratch build one. This post has a comparison picture. Looks to be about the size of a regular gargant - a little shorter and a little fatter.

My painting blog has an example of 3 'Supa Stompa's' that I kitbashed out of a set of 40k Killa Kan's; the restults were pretty good and with the right paintjob could easily be a steam gargant.

you could use the killa kan as a base and add some tracks like these to get that authentic orky vibe....

I have one of those languishing in a case somewhere. I built it but haven't really played with my epic orks at all, I need to dig it out and use it, clearly! :)

Thank you all for the pictures, information and suggestions!

I will keep my eyes open and hope one day I can snag one, but for now I will slowly pick up pieces and see what can be made. I will probably try using an old great gargant three piece body first, but the killa kans look good too.

However, if anyone is willing to part with one in the future, please let me know.

Thank you,

Guano
