The starting price of an ebay auction isn't all that relevant unfortunately (e.g. that imprator). In fact, bids tend to go in at the last second, so you'll only know if something is cheap or not at the end

The great thing about ebay auctions is that, by definition, they always sell for their market value on a given day. Buy-it-now listings on the other hand can be priced much higher, as their value is in convenience (i.e. there is one for sale and I can buy it right now rather than wait for one to come up on auction).
