Post subject:  Warning - rbrucher and Eldar Aspects on eBay

Just wanted to share a word of caution about rbrucher on eBay. He's selling off a load of Epic goodies and I bought a mixed lot of infantry and aspects (including 4 stands of Warp Spiders and 4 stands of Shining Spears, confirmed in an email) off him. Package turned up with normal jetbikes instead of Shining Spears, to which he responded "oops, bit of a mix up, have some support platforms instead". Then he offered me $5 instead and finally he's got all shitty with me. I've had to go through eBay to get a refund, which I'm still waiting for.

So, long story short - if you see some tempting Eldar infantry on eBay from him, be very careful. There won't be any Shining Spears, even if he says they are, and even confirming by email isn't any guarantee that you'll get what you're bidding for (didn't make any difference in my case). I'm sure lots of other people on here have had good experiences from him but this has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I wouldn't want anyone else to suffer the same.

no worries DS, I just hate this kind of crap. Trust is everything to me and if you can't trust people, what's the point?

If you can get some 40K guardian back thinkimagigies and some little wire "spears" (cut mine from paper clips) you could potentially salvage the situation with a little conversion to make the jet bikes into shining spears.

that's a pretty neat idea mark, I'm going to give that a go.

thankfully he "found" them and I received them yesterday, so it's all resolved even if the journey wasn't as pleasant as I would have liked

Glad you got the issue resolved.

All the characters in my Saim Hann army are Jetbike 40K conversions. It helps that 40K Guardians suck so volunteers to have their back sections cut off aren't so hard to find. I used the extra conversion with the spear for all of CAL001's shinning spear characters, or my shining spear characters, someones shinning spear characters anyway, I made them and photographed them at the very least anyway.

Saim Hann Version is shown on the bottom left

Also see central shining spear. Same easy conversion with a bit of paper clip glued on the frount for ultra detailing! (the two to a base ones are normal ones).

Who could tell the difference appart from the slight difference in shape of the jet bikes "wings". The converted ones actually look slightly cooler. I am pretty sure that the "real" shining spears spears pretty much just looked like a piece of paper clip glued on anyway. The main difference would be the head and the little wingy things on the side of it present on the "real" version. But your bound to go blind trying to spot that kind of detail anyway (he says on a forum where people paint chapter symbols in 6mm).

wow, beautiful minis mark, and you're right I couldn't tell the difference. If I ever feel the need to field more spears I'll definitely take that route. What sort of weapon does the exarch have BTW?

I would suspect it most likely has one of the plastic eldar characters cut in half at the waste and put on a jet bike. Probably a warlock.

If everything had gone fine, I would have agreed with you Dughan, it's just that it didn't and I felt that he dealt with it in a bad way (dismissal, then paltry offer, then getting angry), almost as if it was my fault. Thankfully it ended out ok, but it meant that I haven't bid on anything else he's listed, even though he was selling things I was after. Funnily enough, a bunch of that stuff just went for about 1/2 what it normally does, so perhaps people are building a bit of a risk premium in.
