Let me guess as to the lead bidder: Epicollector.

Maybe I should bid just to pull his tail. Yes, I think I just did.

The detail on these guys is pretty amazing....about the best looking Epic minis GW made for my mind.

O-Man are you serious about this one or just annoying EC....I'd bid it up to the $90s to feel him out.

I was the one discovering them and telling the community they were available.

But I didn't buy any :( Just thought they would be available for some time...

Well, I'll try to get those if I can.

BTW, why so much heat directed to EpiCollector?

Because he often wins auctions for rare minis like these.

up to $150+ now.

I put in a bump bid just to be a jerk... if I can't have them, then that guy will have to pay $5 more.

Dangerous, perhaps, but it made me feel a bit better anyway.

Sad really, since I need at least one of each to do what I was planning. Ideally though, they wouldn't be glued together yet, like these ones are.

Now $157.50. I really wish I had known these were ever available in the past, even if briefly. I would love to have some.

You know, I realize Exodites aren't the most popular army theme to come out of GW, but they are my favorite. Maybe it goes back to my youth, when I had a Star Wars trading card with a picture of a storm trooper riding a dinosaur like a horse. I just couldn''t wrap my mind around it - it didn't make any sense, why would this high-tech guy be playing dino-cowboy instead of on one of those slick speeders.

But I digress. I believe the attraction is due to the apparent contradiction between the high tech universe and the low tech mode of operation. It's not really any different than the WW1 tanks or the rough riders of the IG.

As for the price, perhaps you undervalue your own time. How many hours would it take me to scratchbuild minis of similar quality? If my time is worth $7/hr, and it would take longer than 25 hrs to sculpt the things myself, then they are worth $175 if I am dead-set on having them.

Of course, the opportunity cost for paying for them rather than sculpting them is relatively higher, but thats a different matter.

Oh, and it was $152.50 before I put my bid in. I'm soooo glad that wasn't the guys max bid.
