Just wondering, if you're discussing a trade over PM and you're just trying to agree on what the person wants for the item that you require.

If they stop responding, how long do you wait before you start thinking they struck a better deal with someone else? And does that count as a black mark/bad trader?

Sorry to be thinking this way, and hopefully its just a bad time for the trader who can't get to his PC.

I'd wait 10 days.  That is a week's vacation plus settling in time getting back from vacation.  After that the items are fair game.  I grew up in a house where this was the #1 rule: you snooze, you lose. :)

For me it would depend on who I was dealing with. If it's somebody a know fairly well, Moscovian for example, I'm willing to be flexible. If it's someone I've never dealt with before, I would probably be less patient.

So if I understand your question, you were trying to negotiate a trade but had yet to come to any agreement, and the other party hasn't responded for a while? ?Happens all the time from my experience. ?I personally would consider it good form to respond with a "maybe some other time" if it appears you aren't going to reach an agreement, but they certainly aren't a bad trader if they dont.

well its been a week now, and I've never traded with this user.  He or she has something I really want, but I only have part of what they want, so trying tempt with alternatives.

I have sent an message asking if we're still trading. So would only be polite as what zap said to at least respond.

I think you'll find the reason Constantinople got the works is nobodies business but the Turks (a subversive line, liable to wind up Turkish friends that actually bother to listen tot he lyrics of vapid songs).

:) I wasn't going to mention who it was, as like I mentioned, hope it was something like holidays or something-else... but taking a holiday so close to christmas... hmm.. have to remember not everyone celebrates it.
