Yup, very fishy. No pics and neither "epic" nor 6mm appear anywhere in any of the items' descriptions.

It's the way that he finishes with "I hope you get what you want".

Damn. :(

Same MO as that terrence-something guy from a couple years back - Epic section, no explicit notice that it's Epic in the description, private seller, veiled reference in the description to use as justification.

Since he went through several IDs as he burned each one out, I'd be willing to bet money it's the same guy.

That's a good guess.

Hey, I just checked.  The bid history is not hidden.  If you feel strongly about it you could contact the sellers to ask if they are aware it's epic scale they are bidding on.

The location is a bit suspect as well;
Flintshire, Flintshire?

Yup, the Cheque or Postal Money order only payment is just like Terrance Ripoffmerchant used.  Looks like people are wary so far :)

I hadn't noticed that. That makes it even more suspicious.

Already up to 21 pounds plus 3.5 P&H for a single epic thunderbolt!  Poor guy, my ebay account got stuffed up at the start with negative references from someone who had sneaky little tricks like that.  I messaged them and told them, at this stage of the game I wouldn't be surprised if its an account they use themselves to knock the bid up when they are into making misleading listings.

Dam those people who are likely to give a really negative impression of EA to unsuspecting 40Kers.

Edit - emailed customer support re one item and mentioned the others were the same.

The problem is that this guy is working the system.  He's obviously survived multiple iterations of this scam.  All the material information is in the listing, even though the "Epic" part of it is in tiny print at the very top in a section virtually everyone ignores.  It's not fraud.

I know I suggested it but just so you know, contacting other buyers is "transaction interference" which can land you with restrictions on your ebay account.  As Mark_Logue mentions, I wouldn't doubt that the guy is using a shill account and/or getting friends to shill for him but there's no publicly accessible information that would provide evidence of that.

Aye, if this is indeed Terrence Stephens, then we'll have to wait for him to slip up before Ebay can have cause to censure him.

Either that or we wait until he starts racking up the black marks, and Ebay will take action on their own behalf and ban him for another few months.

Either way, I'll continue to tell the dupes that they're being mislead, as I think it's immoral not to, and that Ebay's 'transaction interference' rule is also immoral, in this case.
