Perhaps a few comments came across as a little targetted, Doug, but I am reasonably sure that any comments are made here in admiration rather than any bitterness.
You are a collector beyond the means of most of us here (including myself, and I am a fairly aggressive collector), and one day I would very much like to visit and witness your Epic horde. I certainly dont begrudge you this, and I would rather your collection/Epic museum gathered supplies than they were lost.
Any members bidding behaviour on a third party site are beyond the remit of these boards. EBay has certain rules and regulations about bidding and buying, and any discussion here on these practices are entirely unofficial and should at no point be considered an agreement in any way. In the end, high prices for Epic may help persuade others to sell, and benefit us all. EBay works by people bidding the highest price that they think an item is worth. High prices are an indication of how much the Epic community likes the game. Personally, if I bid for an item and any EpiComms member outbids me then I have absolutely no reason or right to complain. That is how the system works and this practise is transparent and clear.
If anyone wants an item more than I do, then bid and pay more than I am prepared to. If I am outbid by EpiComms members (and it happens frequently), then I wish them well and thanks for an interesting challenge (but, dont snipe, kids!).
Please, all, bear in mind that EBay is a system designed to encourage competition. It is not personal, it is just the nature of the game.
