Doesn't anyone sometimes feel the tension when they are bidding against someone else and sometimes out of emotions like rage over logic that you just keep bidding just to beat that guy(s) more so than actually wanting the item?

Meh, judging people on ebay is kind of hard since one's junk can be another person's treasure. ?I remember some guy bought a single rare Yugioh card for about $63,000 plus $15 shipping. ?He is truly insane or just really have a lot of money? ?Who are we to judge who is crazy or not considering we drop a lot of time and money on little toy soldiers? Perhaps our wallets?

That is another good reason not to try and understand it nor judge. Just let it be and enjoy the ride.  :;):

The only explanation I've ever been able to come up with for the pricing of FW stuff on ebay is the ability to use Paypal and your bank account to pay for it.

For those who don't possess a credit card the ability to withdraw funds via an "e-cheque" might be the only way to score FW products.

And yes I know you in theory could just use an International PMO to pay for it but that would involve actual effort on someone's part.

Never underestimate the "slacker factor" involved in something.

I hate to admit this, but I agree totally about the 'slacker factor' - and it applies to me. I keep meaning to put together an order  for Forge World, but never seem to get the time... and then I see some FW bits on ebay, there's money in my Paypal account, and it's all so quick and easy.
'Course, I'm going to claim that it's not that I'm lazy but because I'm such a busy, hard working bloke :;):
regards,
Reaver

The problem is that, when you bid on something, you feel like you own it already. Then, when someone outbids you, they dont just bid higher, they take 'your' stuff and only by 50p (in the UK). The feeling of ownership, coupled with the small visible outlay can lead people to stop being rational and bidding on something for 'sentimental reasons'. People are weird!

Well, no crazies to be found looking at my auctions... didn't even hit the low reserves I set...  just frugal, even-tempered, patient people looking at my auctions... *sigh* *laugh*

Hey Neal!  I PM'd you back, I'm just waiting to hear back from the "highest bidder" as to what he wants to do.  Thanks for you interest!

I'm at a complete loss with respect to FW models on ebay. ?Can anyone explain to me why people will bid up to nearly retail price on them?

Heck, for US residents the shipping from FW is such a bargain that the net ebay price is likely more than you'd pay ordering straight from the company.

I can understand stuff like that on occasion but it seems like virtually every ebay auction that includes FW stuff does the same thing. ?Even that latest dump of Tau models only depressed the price slightly. ?With ~16 Fire Warrior bags listed at once I would normally expect that to be far more of a hit.

I'm just mystified.

Hi!

I agree. I dont know if it is that they didnt know FW exist, or the figs are not available, or whatever oversight/insanity, but they definitely pay to much.
