Those are rarer that Unicorn Horns !!!

You must be kidding? That's the third lot I've seen on Ebay in three months.

And why are they so sought after? They're not even in the army list...

No problem, Tas! ?:;):

And Chris, that is a standard SM2/TL L/Russ hull and L/Russ hull w/Dozer blade.

And Kortin, are you a newbie to Epic?

Us old school SM1/SM2 types are different breed... we collect and don't use the army lists (they suck !)... we use SM1 templates/TO&Es and SM2 Organization system!

Your comment was like saying to us our gal is ugly and our dog is stupid! :;): :D ?

And congrads Daf!!! The force was with you!!!!

I was lucky, Doug got me mine (I posted pics of it with my IG AFVs!) years ago. If there are other sold on eBay... those boyz don't know what they got!!! :o0

Well, if it's for collecting, I understand...

I have a mixed attitude towards collecting - any Epic player is a collector those days, most miniatures being OOP. But for me, miniatures are interesting only if they have a place in an army list (this is not really a limit for NetEpic then! :;):  ).

Other criteria involve a stunning beauty, a rarity making the miniature a worthwile exchange for getting something else, or a real oddity. See what I mean here. (before you ask, I wasn't involved in this auction, just looking...)

Well, I'm glad that it ended in the hands of an Epicomms member. $18 doesn't seem too pricey for a collector item. It's just that those recovery vehicles are not very high on my personal scale.

Well, now all I have to do is get them here from TAS's part of the world. :p

Oh and get one over to Maksim so he can have one as well.

Well in truth the $18 means two of us end up with something. I do not have the body with the blade already on it and Maksim needs the recovery turret for his collection.

(the third tank will just be a tag along    )

Well Kotrin... in our TO&E system... the L/Russ Recovery does have a place!

I had Doug post some of my TO&Es here last week or so... So we don't use the "current lists"...

All my Epic models are included in my TO&Es! :D :alien:

The only thing that bugs me about collectors is when they create such a sense of scarcity that the rest of us end up having to pay collector's prices.  Sometimes I scroll through auctions on eBay and see the same person bidding on dozens of items, and that same person has been bidding on dozens more for months.  If it were just rare collector's pieces that they were bidding up, fine, but when it's core troops and support elements, that just makes it harder for non-collectors to get in the game with a decent army.

Hope I haven't just offended half the collectors here...

Javelin98,

I agree with you and I am one of the people who will pay for what he wants. :D

When I see a real rare Titan go for $300 plus or some such it is just part of the issue. Most of the rare figures are not something people need to have a great army. In fact most of the real rare figures do not have seperate stats in the game (like the recovery LM).

But I have seen people drive up plastic troops to above retail and that is just silly.

Everything you need to play an army that wins is available right now from GW. Anything else is just visual eye candy.

But you have a point that eBay is just nuts at times. And it does not make sense. I bought a 3 full tank companies for $20 and on that same day I saw a single tank company of the older minis sell for $45. Why?  Not sure.

In any case I do not think you would have insulted anyone here, we all know eBay is crazy.
