It is with some regret that I have to concede victory to Dafrca, as chief 15mm promoter, and Cuban Commissar, as his most able historically-oriented colleague. I have fallen. I am trying to make my first 15mm order - trying, because I have to overcome some payment method issues, but my guess is that as I want to buy and the model maker wants to sell, we'll come to a viable solution.

I'm buying a few models - aaargh, no, two WHOLE (but smallish) armies ? ? ?:80: in 15mm scale.

The models are some of the nicest I've ever seen. I guess I should introduce them at this point: not sci-fi, not fantasy, not even VSF.... but historicals.
Late 15th cent.-early 16th cent. Ottoman Turks and Venetians. Yes, I really have fallen for Venice. These are the two boxed sets for these armies shown on this link. The company: the Italian Venexia miniature.

So - congrats Dafrca and CC. You've won. ? And now I'm going off to count my losses and lick my wounds. And wait for a reply to my email... ?

Don't feel so bad, Van. If it makes you feel any better, I'm guessing you have more Epic minis than dafrca and CC. Also, you might have more minis in a variety of scales and genres than anyone else here.

Those historical minis are really cool. Thank god I'm not even tempted. :D

Glad to hear we have pulled another one into the fold.

You will find it can be quite fun to play at this scale. Lots of new opportunities.

As to your choice, I have seen those figures, they paint up nice and from what I understand are very nice from an authentic side of things.

Well, enjoy and once again, welcome to my madness.

From watching and reading those threads carefully, I would say that this intended purchase would out you in position as leader of new category - 15mm Historicals :D   Daf's 15mm shown here are mostly ahistorical (though I know he has more) and CC has mostly done scales other than 15mm

So not all doom and gloom at all eh? Those figs look fantastic - cant wait to see what modifications you make to them o' renaissance enginseer!

I don't know one way or the other. Would be fun to know.

I have:

Epic
80k+ points of IG
20K+ points of Titans
15k+ points of Eldar (even after selling off the one army)
35k+ points of Space Marines

Now scales, I am sure he has me beat. I only have figures in:

Full Thrust (I do not know the scale of the ships)
1/285th (Modern US and Russian Forces)
6mm (Dirtside and Epic)
15mm (SciFi, VSF, Colonial, WWII, SAW, and Napolionics)
25mm (Stargrunt)
28mm (D&D, Cthulhu, and left over remains of 40k)

In any case, fun to think about. ?:D

I would be glad to adjust my title to be chief 15mm SciFi promoter and allow V to become lead in Historicals.

Oh and just for the record, I do have more then just SciFi in 15mm, but SciFi is my main love in 15mm.  :;):

Wow!  I'm impressed!  I've just cleared 8K points of IG (including five Warlord Titans), 3K points of Marines, and 3K points of Orks.

For my other scales:

Full Thrust-slash-Starmada -- about 60 ships, mostly GZG and Brigade Models
6mm Dirtside -- Six separate companies, including two grav companies, one mechanized, one GEV, one air assault, and one combat walker company
10mm BOFA/HOTT -- the BOFA boxed set and some random undead models, which will soon be my third army
15mm Stargrunt -- one hundred infantry (GZG NI and Kra'vak), 30 Aliens (the movie type), and about twenty-five vehicles (Old Crow and DLD Productions, with eight MW:DA walkers)
25mm fantasy -- using GW LOTR models with ARES from MJ12 Games
28mm Combat Zone -- 28 troopers, 30 gangers, 5 robots, three vehicles (including a VW Gun-Bug and a Mack truck converted for road combat use)

Want to be real impressed, go look at some of Primarch's threads where he shows us his collection and then the next order from the painter and the the next........

My whole collection is smaller then a few of his "orders".  :p

Oh and the rest of your list is very nice. I have thought about HOTT, but I have too much that is calling my name right now to start another new range/game.

I don't know I feel bad and Happy at the same time   :(

Historical.  Lets not forget Louie's Flames of War and Napoleonic  armies.  The next era will be English civil war.
