Hi,

Have been looking around the web for a while now for bridges suitable for Epic, but with very little luck. FW do a few for Warmaster which are ok in size, but not exactly futuristic/industrial in looks. I've also seen a few railway bridges that are passable, but they are never wide enough to be a nice objective to fight over (generally you could just about fit a stand on them).

Does anyone know of any readily available bridges suitable for Epic? Preferably long enough to span approx 3 inches and quite wide. (It isn't important if the scale is slightly out, ie: 10/15mm)

And before anyone suggests making one myself, my large scale model-making sucks, so I've ruled that out. (Unless someone can write a quick tutorial.)

Cheers,
Freshmetal

(ooh! 200th post! Yay!)

I use railway bridges. However I don't use the "floor part but make a new one from wood/card polystyrene (depending on what's at hand) and then simply glue the sides onto that. I usually find that something about the width of a Titan base looks good.

Cheers! :)

I have one of these, not assembled all the way yet.  I have put together the sides of the bridge, and debating whether to paint the sides before adding the deck (It doesnt come with a deck, so you can make one as wide as you need...cardstock will work)  I also have the Russian Orthodox Church piece and the Mosque, both of which are at the primer stage.

Anyhow, here is the link:

If I ever get mine finished I will post a pic.

N or Z-scale RR bridges work great!

Shabbat Shalom,

Hi Freshmetal,

The Void Armoured Bridge, by I-Kore, is excellent, made of resin, and quite cheap. The textured metal plates for foot grips are out of scale, but you can always say they're there for the Titans, as L-4 pointed out. I MUST build this and take pics!

EDIT found a couple of pics here.
Don't stop at the first bridge picture - there's a better one, with troops crossing, further down. Another pic here.

I'd reccommend the Urban Mammoth (ex-i-kore) Urban war range of plastic scenics. One of the small kits should provide enough parts to make a number of tech-like bridges & a few other things as well!

I cant seem to find it on the Urban Mammoth site itself, but the stuff's always for sale on ebay:

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, I'll have a look at all of those today. I'm going to have to try to minimise the number of orders I place for stuff, so I'll have to figure out everything else I want to get before I decide which to go with. I'll probably look at RR bridges first so I can use it for other games though.

Cheers,
Freshmetal

We use a number of different models of bridges including some I made from plastic card and bitz. If the model is too wide, it can't cross ... a simple but useful rule ! :;):

Most microarmour bridges are too small.

Try a company called Gallia though.

Shabbat Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi Serps,

Yes, JR Minis does have a few bridges as do most microarmor scenery manufacturers.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

If you can find them...and that is a very large if... there was a line of resin bridges put out in the early/mid-90s for Steve Jackson's Ogre by a company called Detailed Casting Products.

The bridges are scifi and the larger of the two is scaled to drive an Ogre across, which would translate out to superheavy vehicle/war engine for sure.

Cheers,

I have those DCP brigdes in my collection. ?Nice pieces, but I think they are out of business ... :)  I also have a few of their CP Bunkers and Orbital Defense Turrets, all great for Epic terrain !   :;):
